While it is easy to pick on Hungaroring, most people don't realize what a traditional race track it has become:

In the current F1 calendar there are only 7 other tracks with a longer history and those are the tracks everybody loves and cries foul when Bernie threatens to pull one of them.

Or in other words: There are 12 tracks on the calendar that have a good deal less of F1 tradition/racing history.

So where does that leave Hungaroring? The most historic track nobody loves?

You just answered your own question.

Hungaroring is usually an uneventful, slow, boring race.

How can you defend the Hungarian GP when legendary venues like Estoril, Imola, Kyalami are not on the calendar anymore?

Those venues didn't get axed because of Hungaroring.

    - Estoril got "replaced" by Valencia.
    - F1 outgrew Imola.
    - Kyalami is not up to modern standards anymore.

It is sad those tracks are not on the calendar anymore, but they are partly to blame for that. If you want to axe some GPs to make room on the calendar, then please go after less traditional races like Singapore, China, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi.

As for Hungaroring being boring: Fully agreed.
As are Singapore, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi etc

I totally agree....However, the money they make for Bernie is quite exciting!
