http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/65859 This is the guy that called Jackie Stewart a certified half wit please.. Now please someone tell me what is the point of spending millions building a state of the art F1 car ... As if we need more proof he is nuts ..
"My dream is for a Formula One where the drivers swap cars from one race to the other, to see who really is the strongest." WHAT? What would be the point of even having constructors at all, please someone else take over the reigns.
My dream is for a Formula One where the drivers tie Max to their rear wings and drag him around the track...
Now dammit Steve, this is just the bitter end! You must understand that despite his sincere desire to leave, its everyone ELSE who refuses to accept his resignation. You may see things differently, but I can well imagine a roughshod and pitiable Mosley wandering from office to office at FIA HQ begging anyone who will listen to accept his resignation. "I am not worthy!" he bleats, only to be rebuffed due to his overwhelming magnanimousness (is that even a word?). Poor, poor Mosley. Actually Mosley may be approaching the time when the men take him off in the tight white coat to the funny farm. I dislike Mosley - intensely - so with that in mind, I will say this. Mosley is a man who was gifted his money - he hasn't had to work for it, and he doesn't really like guys that have (which include Ron Dennis and Bernie Ecclestone). He's the businessman equivalent of a hippie. If he wasn't in such a dangerous position within the FIA he would be smoking doobies and saying "hey maaaan!" to people at the local hemp store. He doesn't have much, err.. any, business prowess and has this happy-happy-joy-joy witless opinion about how great F1 would be "if only... <insert Mad Max idiocy here>". Drivers swapping teams? Yes, another flash of brilliance Maxie... I'm in awe of your intellect! I am sure Ferrari would just love to spend some time with Lewis Hamilton helping him beat them in the WCC and WDC. And if the WCC points remain with the team, then I am sure Ferrari would be waiting with baited breath for their chance to let F1 greats like Davidson and Nakajima go out and show them how it's *really* done. Maybe we'll get lucky and the puppet strings Max controls with his fingers will get discombobulated during one of his epic flurries of incessant meddling, then get tangled around his neck and choke him out. nice. and. slow. That will be a day for celebration!
The guy's lost it. Does he really think a Ferrari or a McLaren are going to turn over their car to one of the lesser drivers. Why not just go to a spec series and be done with it.
He does make a valid point. We will never know who is the best driver. Only the best car/driver combo. But best car/driver combo is the point of F1. Look at RB. Put him in a Ferrari and he is great. Put him in Honda, and he sucks. MS I think would be one of the very few who would be great in any car. I like feeder series that are all the same car. That way the cream rises, and then they move up and up till they get to F1. For example, I saw Marco Andretti race in the Indy Pro Series at Indy, which is a spec series, and he was head and shoulders above the rest. I checked his stats and he entered 6 races that year, and won 3 of them.
Sure. I watch that series whenever I catch it on TV. I think they do the reverse grid thing we have been discussing on another thread. I saw Karthikayen (former Jordan driver) win a race last year.
Yes you maybe right, reverse grid.. I have not seen much about it to be honest. At present I think as long as we don't get LH dominating or anyone else for that matter like MS did, F1 is looking good at the Min, I like the fact they are putting more into making the drivers work for there money.. Thing is LH is looking like a Tiger Woods, and that is not saying the golfers he plays are crap he is just on another level. And we dont need to see LH in a back marker car to prove he is any good..IMO Early days though we shall see..
My dream is to have an F1 where F1 management swap positions every race. That way we would know who is the strongest and who is the weakest. I nominate Max to transfer to oversee the Siberian F1 race.
