GREAT morning. Starts out at the meeting point in Irvine where Ron graciously offers to let me drive his 308 all the way through Laguna Canyon, PCH, and up to Crystal Cove. As much as I would have loved to, Jay hasn't driven a Ferrari before so I ask Ron to let him take my place. The rest of the group takes off and I hold back waiting to lead the way for Ron and Jay. After we pull up to the stoplight next to each other I see Jay's huge smile...having the best time of his life. I roll down the windows and ask for Grey Poupon (picture 4) We snake through the canyon for a while and end up at the show...Already a great turnout at 7am. Rick's F40, a few 360s, a few boxers, a few 246s, two 365 GTC/4s, 330GTC, 275 GTB!!, along with our group of a 355, 360, M3, NSX, 328, 308, and 308 GT4. Shortly after Armen shows up in his amazing 288. Unfortunately there werent any spaces around the other Ferraris so he parks out of the main area. The 288 was just awesome, sounded great and looked in absolutely perfect condition! A little later on Jeffrey takes Jay for a joyride in the 355 and they manage to reach a "brisk" pace on PCH The show wears down a little bit...a few interesting cars come and go. I spot Dan Gurney *sp?* walking around admiring the cars but didnt build up the courage to introduce myself to him...next time! After most of the people leave Jeffrey, Rick, Jay, Jerry, and a few other people and I stand around and chat for a while before Jerry asks Jay to drive his 328! Without hesitation, of course, Jay agrees and I get a few shots of them leaving. Two Ferraris in one day Jay --very nice! When they return they pull up next to me and Jay asked through the window if I am ready or not. Not knowing what he meant I grabbed my camera preparing to take some sort of photo. It took a minute for me to understand that he wanted to let me take the car for a spin! Now I am the luckiest guy in the world for driving one Ferrari, but now here is another chance! Life cant get any better! I dont know how to describe the drive any other way but amazing. I never got fast on PCH, but even just cruising around at legal speeds the 328 was so nimble and tight. Just like the GT4 a few weeks ago the car felt perfectly balanced. After turning around and heading back Jerry convinced me to rev it up to 7,000...WOW!! The sound was just amazing and at that rpm the car really came alive. What a car! I told Jerry I need a Ferrari right away So Jerry, I cant thank you enough! The people from this website are the greatest people I have ever met and you and Dom have proven that by beeing more than kind enough to share the driving experience with me. What a great experience for a guy my age So, thank you both! Ron, thank you as well for the offer to let me drive your 308. Very gracious! Maybe one of these days Thanks again everybody! Great morning...Great cars and great people Ive got 82 pictures coming so give me a few hours to upload them all!
