Understatement right there! Should probably also post in the UK section; Then sit back & "enjoy" the ensuing whining. Having said that, brings to mind the old adage; "you wanna play, you gotta pay." Both my boys are huge soccer fans; They, admittedly begrudgingly, eventually subscribed to Sky as they want to watch it. No idea what Sky charges these days, but seems to me here in States most folks just "accept" that if you want decent TV, it's gonna cost..... My bill (TV & internet) is UKP 100 per month. No "premium" (HBO, Starz etc) included. How does that compare to Sky in the UK. [OK, I'll x-post to the UK forum. ] Cheers, Ian
Sounds like a few other folks aren't happy with the FIA either.. GPDA calls for reform of 'ill-structured' Formula 1
Won't bother me, haven't watched a race on free to air since sky took it over, if I'm paying I might as well watch all of them on sky....
Why not just incorporate the cockpit halo and the ban on tear-offs and just race souped up WEC card for 2 hours.
It sounds about right for F1: "Right, the popularity of our sport is dropping around the World and people are switching off from watching F1 on television in the UK due to a lack of interest. How can we encourage the fans to start watching again?" "I've got it! - How about we do a deal with a TV company that only a third of the UK has in their homes, to show exclusive coverage of F1?" "I like it! - It just shouts F1 to Me!" On the plus side, it looks like I'm going to have at least 5 years of having My weekends back again to get all of My projects completed (My car will be clean more often for a start off!), and, My life will become far more stress free as I will no longer be spending hour after hour on Fchat's F1 section getting into arguments that just go round and round and round without getting anywhere! So thank you for doing this deal Bernie - It will cure Me of My F1 addiction and allow Me to realise that F1 is actually not that important at all really!
