    +1 on both. I'm sure the answer to the second is "money!" - He who brings the most gets the seat right now..... IIRC, the money man is being sued (by their govt?) and his pockets are pretty much dry [At least as far as far as writing checks for an F1 team. ;)]

    I guess they're running on start money and whatever the jockeys bring with 'em...... Big briefcases of cash are changing hands! ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    I agree. Just a guess, but the seat is likely going to the highest bidder for the weekend. So far Yamamoto has the biggest bank to play with, as he has not been paying for his ride from the beginning of the season, whereas Senna and Chandak have.

    Indeed. I wonder how many more briefcases he can bring before he's outbid?......

    Did you deliberately misspell Chandhok's name? - I kinda like "Chandhak" :)

    All jokes aside, I'd like to see "the Cowboy" (sorry!) do good - He seems to come across OK in interviews, and India is a *big* market......

    Cheers,
    Ian
    PS - The other "woops!" (OT, but hardly worth another thread IMHO!) right now is STR's Franz Tost announcing both JA and SB as drivers next year - Swiftly denied by JA......

    Nah, just a plain ol' misspellin' on my part.

    Franz Tost - P*ssing off drivers since 1956! SB denies signing as well.

    Did they say it would still be fitted inside the car though?.

    They were probably hoping you were buying the seat to raise some much needed funds! :D

    But, what if there is no fine print?......

    Classified ad in national newspaper in the UK *many* years ago;

    Anyone remember paying for classifieds by the character?..... Kids today reckon they can abbreviate... Anyway....

    <Ring-ring>
    "Are those seats still available?"
    "Why yes, please send check to...... and I'll send 'em to you" [Earlier, simpler days back then]
    .....
    .....
    Cheque (we're in England here ;)) arrives.
    Excited fan is surprised his seats, for they do arrive, are in a big box however.

    Upon opening the box, he discovers two, new, folding seats with a label "For the FA Cup Final" attached.

    The beauty was, IIRC, he sold ~1K seats....... :)

    Cheers,
    Ian
    PS - I haven't asked Snopes as I like the tale anyway ;)

    BTW - The version of this tale I remember does indeed have the "wronged" party's putting together a lawsuit.

    IIRC, the judge laughed a little as there was no "misrepresentation" :)
