"iPod music recovery software is specifically designed to recover and restore all music files folders lost due to accidental erase by Apple iPod real time player. The software is very easy to use utility which helps in retrieving your lost songs, mp3 existing on your iPod.

The iPod restore software supports all type of latest Apple iPod series including iPod Mini, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod home stereo, iPod U2 etc. The Software is capable of recovering songs if formatting and deletion is done either by Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh operating system.

The software recovers digital music played on iTunes media player by iPod update software. It recover corrupted files like .aac (Advanced Audio Coding file format), .aiff (Audio Interchange File Format), .mp3 (MPEG Layer 3 Audio File), Apple Lossless other songs files by using iPod data recovery software.

Recovers data when message ‘Drive not formatted’ display while accessing iPod drive. Recover all songs which are directly deleted from iPod when (shift+delete) key is pressed simultaneously. Rescue music back from virus infected iPod. The graphical user interface makes it easy to operate even for non-technical people."

anyone use this or something similar?

my iPod had over 6700 songs before i f#cked it up.
can this "find" the songs on the iPod? I accidentally deleted some stuff, then when re-synced with the computer, iTunes trashed the stuff it could not find.

    thanks

    The answer is "it depends".

It will depend on whether or not the songs have been physically overwritten by new data on the hardrive. If you have re-synced your iPod, chances are you won't get some or all of it back. If you havent done anything since, chances are better that you can get it back, but it can still be difficult...

You will get it back, but the names might be missing a few characters. The way file deletion works, there is a table of file names and when you delete, you don't overwrite the data, merely the entry in the file names table. If the disk is full, then obviously new data has to overwrite the old. But unless you refill it with entirely new data, the old data is still on there. The ability to "look it up" is all that's lost by erasing the index entry.

You should get your songs back with this. What is the price?

If your iphone/Ipod is jail broken download iFile from Cydia you'll see the layout of the files, I'd assume that software tries to get the names back somehow, the actual media content is placed with a cryptic name along with a descriptor file and that is all you need. There are quite a few tools to get access to the file system without the iTunes which does not give much anyway. It is cool 2 go down to the command line and play around the unix way ... long time ago I'd really loved BSD and that flavour is what is is in there.

    Go to: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Select Music Purchases, Lost or Missing items. Then Click on the Email Us button.

My iPhone and laptop both crashed within 2 weeks of each other. I was able to recover the mp3's and tranfer them to another computer. The problem I had is that on the new computer the music was showing up as mpeg-4 files. Huh? I emailed them and told them how my equipment crashed, trasfered but then unable to play. They emailed me back and said that they were allowing me to redownload all of my music I bought. Granted it was about 100 files, not 6000 but it's worth a shot.

    Good luck

after 15 hours of futzing around, I finally rebuilt my library.

everyone do yourself a favor. Back up your music! I had not done it in 2 years.
Could have taken under 1 hour (had I had the brains to back it up more recently!)

Mondog1 - most of my music in the past 1-2 years has not come from iTunes... plenty of "other" sites!
