Just had my 07 Spider in for service and several issues fixed - but now have more... From reading here, I've determined I have "the window switch lights are always on", which will be a parasitic drain on the battery. Not a major issue since it's always on the tender in the garage, but... And, when I had it in for service they flagged that the "Air Bag" light was on. Since I was already $20K+ in other repairs deferred that one... However, now the "F1 dash light" (which looks like a "rear hatch is open" light but it's not!) is on. Not blinking, it's "on" - and car makes a long beeeeeeep. When getting in the car, I hear the pump for only a few seconds (which is normal) so this might not be a super easy fix and needs to be addressed sooner rather than later... Damn - I love this car - but HOLY HELL are there a lot of noodling little issues to sort out when first getting my mitts on a 17yo vehicle... I should have bought the 488 (10 years newer) and saved money, huh? Kevin
That usually means sensors had an issue at one point ..or still having ... does it shift properly Do you have a diag tool? If not ..do you diy or always bring to mechanic Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Seems to be shifting fine and, yes, I have a Launch X431. Went in and cleared all the codes, but they came right back and it had no effect on the dash indicator lights... I'm not scared of a LITTLE work - which is why I deferred the "air bag" as I could handle that - but the F1 error is deeper than I'd like to go on my own... However, since there's no independents in my corner of the cornfields and the dealership is 140 miles away, I should probably learn fast, huh? Kevin
Go into 2.31 transmission selection and read codes ..tell me what you see I can guide you if you like Pm me as well Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Odd alarms, these cars are very sensitive to battery voltage, you can suddenly get odd alarms after starting, as the starter engages the system volts drop and up pops weird alarms. Buy a battery condition tester as only $15\20 range. Be sure it is rated at enough CCAs
After being on these forums for over a year, I’m convinced most weird issues are either a dying battery or bad grounds. Going through all the grounds and cleaning them like collegeboy did is one of the top things on my list after seeing the state of his.
Boys - thanks for the feedback! Battery is pretty new and it's always on a tender in the heated garage. So, not impossible there's a ground issue, but I don't think it's a "low charge" issue and what I'm experiencing are all common unrelated(?) issues - I'm just getting a lot of those popping up at once.... GRRRRRRR!!!! Best news is that f32 has reached out - from the threads I'd read he's THE MAN - both technically and in "being a nice guy to help" - so, updates to follow. Kevin
Had a GREAT conversation and trouble-shooting session with flash32 this afternoon and have made progress! First, before the conversation, I figured out the lights on the window controls *do* go out - it just takes them a few minutes to do so... I'm checking this off the list as "not a problem". Then, to the big problem - the warning light on the dash for the F1 transmission. I have a Launch x431 OBD2 reader (which evidently f32 has the menu memorized for ) and the transmission checks out fine (including some recommended adjustments he has for the PIS setting) and the error code is P1760 - which indicates a problem with the brake lights - and... the center/rear brake light isn't lighting - AND, last weekend I swapped out the stock/cracked tail lights for Morimoto LEDS. So, the theory is I've pulled a wire, or not connected the LED resistor tightly, or *something* else when I did that simple swap. Fortunately, I have the original stock lights still in hand, so first step will be to swap those back in and see if the issue goes away. THANKS MUCH to flash32 for the troubleshooting advice and VAST experience in the error codes. Updates to follow, but I'm headed out of town for the next week and a half so update won't be real soon... Kevin
very similar issues reported in the dedicated Morimoto lights thread if you pull that up - same fault light and (I think) the same code too
PV - thanks - I found the thread and just emailed “The Lighting Guru”, which I purchased these through… Here’s the link I included with my email to them: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/rear-hatch-warning-on-after-installing-morimoto-led-tail-lights.679988/#post-149270306 Updates to follow!
