No and I was there that year when Maserati brought the two 3200s that had done the Alaska road trip. I did spot Gene O'Gorman in those photos at the track I think? I wasn't there with a car.

Are there any 3200GT cars in America? I wat a 3200 again. But would add the seats of the 4200. Much better.

I think that would be hard to say almost 20 years later. There was at least one in the Washington DC area for sale a very long time ago. I presume that it had something to do with a diplomat bringing it over.

I drove one in 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, dark blue. It was owned by Michel A. a French Miami real estate developer. He had brought it in from Europe himself.

At the time he felt there were about five in the US, all brought independently.

The two used by the factory in that Alaska raid were most likely shipped back to Italy afterwards.

Correct... it is Giuseppe Farina in his Maserati, in the pits during the 1949 Albi Grand Prix.

2nd photo Grand Prix Albi 1948.

Needs to be 25 years old. So the 1998 model year car is now eligible for import.

A 3200 with a good chip tuning is an ANIMAL. A friend of mine had 550 hp. with standard turbos etc. Superfast car... that + manyal transmission in USA could be something people are willing to pay good money for!

Servicing turbo charged Maseratis pre 2000 in the USA would be almost impossible unless you learned how to yourself and even then parts access and any special tools would be even more difficult. Hell, it's real task to find anyone who knows how and wants to work on the original Biturbos from the 80' and 90's. I bet that selling such a car on Bat would not be very fruitful.

They are reliable like a 450 SL if you just do the mod for the throttle body. Believe you me. Like a John Deere.

#071 has lost its original engine, that was sold in May 2006 to Jacques Pozzo di Borgo.
The car was sold Oct. 28, 2009, for 120,000GBP in an RM auction in London.
No idea where it is now.
