A friend of mine, Christian Barsacq, shooted this Ferrari 512 BB in the "Tertre Rouge" corner. Who was the driver...? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the great photo Giotto! I feel fortunate in having seen one of these 512 Boxers run recently at VIR. What a fantastic car, an absolute monster! I would have loved to have seen them race at Le Mans back then. Gary
512 Boxer #26685 n°75 was entered by french Ferrari importateur Charles POZZI for Le mans 1980. Drivers were Lucien GUITTENY, Paul LIBERT and Gérard BLEYNIE. Here's another photo after BLEYNIE had crashed the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The same close-cropped hair, the same glasses, same size and same looks ! Oh Yes ! I think so, Look photos book's Peter Coltrin by Chris Nixon, page 121, it's the Ferrari's Jean Behra and It's the right place for a good shoot. Question ? Where is "Portos"
Can somebody help with a picture of the 206 Dino, being dislpayed by the Factory at Brussels 1968 Motor Show? Matthias
Agreed, but no real clues to the location. The only possible hint in those photos is the lack of strut / windshield-mounted rear view mirror. In all their Can-Am races, the two cars both had them fitted. So perhaps this is an earlier test session. But why park on grass at Monza or Modena Autodrome ? I found this other (very poor quality) photo of Jonothan Williams testing the 350 Can-Am at Monza on here, a while back: Image Unavailable, Please Login
The fire extinguisher makes me think it's later after the factory was done with them. Do you remember ever seeing a fire extinguisher in factory cars? Later in Australia? 0858?
Can't say as I do, Jim - but then I would guess Chris Amon was fairly sensitised to them after Monaco '67. There's also that additional dial above the dash - A separate Oil temperature gauge, possibly ? Hmmm. Dunno.
I have post the pics in large size. in this way, the details will be more visible. j'ai poster les photos en plus grand format. de cette façon, les détails seront plus visibles. thank
Hi Bruno! I think the CanAm car is #0860. The photos are certainly from the early 70's after Pierre Bardinon bought the car. I asked Bruno about the origin of the photos. Isn't that a helmet in the lower left part in the cockpit?
After seeing the great pics of the 512 BBLM #78 on page 148 of this thread I realized that I had a model of it in my 1/43rd collection. I had it built in the middle 80's to represent the way the car looked when it finished Lemans in 1980, right down to the flat red rear quarter panel and the duct tape holding much of the front end together. If I can't have the real thing, then I'll console myself with this miniature. This is a great thread, truly a wealth of knowledge and history. Great group of photos! I am having trouble registering a bid on them? I believe it says they will ship to North America? David
