I found an old picture of 0123S here: http://www.kidston.com/view_car.php?id=17 Anyone knows what has become of the car so far? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ed, about the last picture [the interior]. The dashboard looks like a 250 California. What's the story. just one man's opinion tongascrew
I have pix from a late 200? Villa d'Este event of the interior of 0677GT. The dash is TDF not the one shown in Ed's GTO? interior. I have asked Ed if he has info on this. just one man's opinion tongascrew
Did I stump everyone with my query two pages back? The 158 is my love and I would like to clear up the stripe mystery. I checked at the Research Center at Watkins Glen, but they didn't have any idea of what I was referring to. Ed, where should I go next? Someone must have an idea! Rossa156-63
Do anybody have photos of Roger Vadim with one of his Ferraris please? I think he had 2 250 California (LWB and SWB), a Daytona, and others. Thank you very much!
Apparently nobody has the answer for you. Try LAT photographic in the UK http://media.latphoto.co.uk They can do the research for you and maybe find some pics. It will be expensive. The photos are not cheap but if you really have to clear up the stripe mystery thats what you will have to do.
Seem the extra stripes are only present during practices, blue for #8 Bandini.Probably an other colour for Surtees for distinguish the two cars.

The chassis for 0123S was sold to Corbacchia who selected the body style and builder, Touring,. The C/O was issued 4/17/51 price L3.3M. It is believed that Cornacchia had a buyer for the car from the beginning and it was sold to Clarkson with Italian plates BO4130 and entered in the Tulip Rally in Holland #182. It then went to England registered with Clarkson on plates QD 3936,and rallyed including the 1951 TDF. At some point it was shipped to America, abused by several owners, shipped back to the U K for Lord Brocket who had it restored and then destroyed/ stolen in that infamous chrade. just one man's mopinion tongascrew
The name is Cornacchia, it was never sold to Clarkson. It was a DNS in the Tour de France. It was in the process of a rebuilding under Brocket but this was never finished. The car is still existent without the body and is in the process of a slow rebuilt.
Sorry, typo on the name. The published info I have implies Cornacchia sold it to Clarkson who drove it in a few events. So who did Corbacchia sell it to. It was registered to someone in England. Who has it now and is doing the resto. thanks tongascrew
Clarkson never owned the car but rented it from Cornacchia. At that time Brits were not allowed to take more than 50BPS out of the country risking a Gouvernment ban. It was given a temporary Britsh number plate which meant it had to leave the British Isles again. Cornacchia sold 0123S to Boris Said, a U.S. resident in Paris on May 22 1954, the car being stored for some time in Paris at the garage of Paul Flandrack. At a later time it was exported to the U.S.A. The car now has a dutch owner.
C'mon guys, don't let this wonderful thread fall behind! Surely we haven't run out of more vintage photos. Dig deep! Gary
For sure Gary, like this rare photo of Jaques Herzet Ferrari 166 MM Vignale s/n 0300? at the La Gavea Circuit in Rio de Janeiro, 1954 Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a sweet car; love them Vignales! I have a few more of my 1971 visit to the factory that I don't think I've shown before. If I'm wrong, my apologies. First group in the Racing Dept. Great photos Ed, as usual. Its a shame they didn't win an F1 championship with the 312B(first photo). It was such a pretty car. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago April 24th 2010
Very nice pictures , Ed. I only think that the picture #3 post #5447 is taken at the Lamborghini factory. These seem to be the assembly lines of the Jarama and Espada, as written on the two red panels. Ciao Andrea
