Caption: Fangio, still determined to catch Moss, took over Collins's car at 54 laps, when it was 49 seconds behind the leader. In his epic pursuit, he beat the lap record lap after lap, but could not catch the British driver, who crossed the finishing line with a lead of 6.1 seconds.

    Caption:
Castellotti retired on the 15th lap with a broken gearbox on Ferrari No. 22, but at 42 laps he re-started on No. 20, which had been abandoned by Fangio, and managed to finish fourth in front of the Gordinis of Da Silva Ramos and Bayol. The latter is seen following Castellotti round Station Corner.

    Spa-Francorchamps, June 3rd, 1956

Caption: Moss, specialist in rapid starts, once again managed to gain a few yards when the flag fell, but was unable to keep the lead as he did at Monaco three weeks earlier. On the 5th lap he was passed by Fangio. Behind Moss, from left to right are Collins, Castellotti, Behra and Fangio.

Caption: By winning the Belgian Grand Prix after a run of outstanding sports car successes, Peter Collins established himself at the age of 25 as one of the world's best drivers. He and another British driver, Stirling Moss, are now the two leading contenders for Fangio's crown.

XLII Grand Prix de l'Automobile-Club de France
    Rheims, 1st July, 1956

Caption: Ferrari Supremacy. Three wide, squat red cars, driven by an Argentine, an Englishman and an Italian dominated the first two thirds of the race. They were seriously challenged by the Vanwall, which Schell managed to insert in second place only half a second behind Fangio at 31 laps, but after the Vanwall retired, the only serious challenge came from Behra, the eternal Third Man.

Caption: Castellotti drove an excellent race and was always in the first three. He led from the 40th to the 45th lap, and then had to let his team colleague Collins go by to win by a few yards, just as Fangio and Kling finished two years earlier.

Caption: Peter Collins, winner of the Tour of Sicily, second in the Mille Miglia, and winner of the Belgian Grand Prix, established himself as an active contender for the World Championship with his most notable victory to date - the Grand Prix of the A.C.F. His average speed was more than 6 m.p.h. higher than that of Fangio in 1954.

This Ferrari 410 Superamerica is absolutely the epitome of mid-1950s American automobile design styling, even to placing the car's name F-E-R-R-A-R-I in chrome letters just above the top chrome bar of the grille and ahead of the traditional oblong Ferrari logo.

The leading blue car on the right (not the #16 Vanwall up ahead) is a Maserati, the remaining three blue cars in the rear are indeed Gordinis.

My apologies Boudewijn, I was not aware - not sure why it was flipped.
