More Old Photos

It would be interesting to learn of any remains of 0830 existing.

 

This is MY photo.
I took this and a number of similar ones on the 1st February 1990 in Bern, Switzerland, near the Swiss customs office. The car is a replica of a "P car" based on 330 GT 2+2 Chassis #06873 and at the time was imported to Switzerland by a Mr. Martin Hugi of Bern.

0830, 25 May 1965: Tested by Andrea de Adamich and Bruno Deserti at the Monza track in a private Ferrari testing session: Deserti, who was from Bologna (see Autosprint #12 of 18 June 1965), crashed the car and was killed in the resulting fire, he was 23 years old. That day Enzo Ferrari was personally observing the tests at Monza and the mechanic present was Giulio Borsari. Also present were Franco Lini and Eugenio Dragoni of Scuderia Sant'Ambroeus who made sure that absolutely no photographs of the wreck were taken or published later.

Dear Marcel

I have this car as #6873.

It subsequently came to the UK and was repossessed when finance broker Landhurst Leasing went under. I inspected this and many others, for the Liquidators.

Will go and look to see if I have any photos.

Absolutely dreadful car.

It was advertised in Autosport (UK) magazine in the New York area, 10 July 1997.

Sorry, no photos of #6873, but it can be seen in the background of this picture of #0385. This in turn reminded me that the engine in #0385 was at that time stamped 0385 TG. Sorry no pictures though.

No, but I know it's Spa in either 1965 or '66.

edit: probably 1966 because there's no sign for McLaren who was a non-starter that year - all the other drivers took part both years.

This is not 6873! The real 330 GT 2+2 is in Switzerland but has a non matching engine. So the fake car uses probably only the engine of 6873.
