A picture from the archive of Pietro Fontanella, who was the first Ferrari (and Maserati too) dealer in Torino in the '50s and early '60s. The setting is italian, the car's plate is MI-202916. Who knows more ? Ciao Andrea Image Unavailable, Please Login
So, this picture may have been taken when Adolfo Macchieraldo became the owner (1954/1955), since the cars of Macchieraldo were serviced by Fontanella's organisation. Ciao Andrea
The dark lines seem to be two belts for fixing the bonnet. No news about the kind of wine contained in the flagon of wine... Ciao Andrea
No. Taken between 13 November 1952 and 5 June 1954 while owned by 3rd owner Giorgio Pimpinelli of Milan. Adolfo Macchieraldo, the 4th owner, was not from Milan but from Torino. Marcel Massini
True, it could be even earlier than 1954/1955 The fact that the car has the Milano license plate, does not exclude the, already occurred, change of property from Pimpinelli to Macchieraldo of Turin. As you know, the basic documents of a car (in Italy) are two: 1) the registration sheet (Title) according with province license plate 2) the additional sheet or ownership certificate. In those years it was possible and quite frequent to register the change of ownership just on the second document and, after a while, to update also the first one and eventually the license plate in case of change of province. May be that the car depicted in the photo, is already in the hands of Macchieraldo, and so this explains why the photo was in the Fontanella archive. Ciao Andrea

Hi Ed, Please give us the story behind this one if you have it. Robert Lee shows up on barchetta, but what do you know about it? Must be the worst rear visibility candidate. Hope you are well, David
I took these pix in Monterey in the 80's. Owned at that time by an ex-Indy driver (name escapes me)/car dealer on the west coast.
GP de Picardie a Amiens On my file I have only 166SC 004C n ° 22 of Victor Polledry (7em that we see behind the 166 MM) But I do not know Leberquier. Sur mon fichier je n'ai que 166SC 004C n° 22 de Victor Polledry (7em. que l'on voit derrière la 166 MM) Mais je ne connais pas Leberquier.
I came across the snap shot from my collection. I am afraid I know nothing about it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
