Can you identify this car ... not the Fiat 1500. Please note the hi-tech equipment around the gearbox Image Unavailable, Please Login
My first guess (pending a bit or research) would be a Brabham-Climax. Is this Monaco also? There were no less than four of them in the race that weekend (Bonnier, Hulme, Anderson, Brabham) plus two Brabham-BRMs for Jo Siffert and Frank Gardner!
You guys are too strong. Bravo ! You've spent your may week ends on the cote d'azur or what ??? Here 's a last one, too easy for you. I must visit my uncle again, maybe he has some other hidden treasures like this Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jo Bonnier in one of Rob Walker's cars. They ran Coopers in '63 and '64, and a Brabham in '65. Therefore, this must be the Brabham. He finished 7th. Thanks for sharing the terrific photos!
"Daytona!! Napoli ? Attached Images" 1967 David, In the background is another partial glimpse of the NART White Elephant in which Peter Gregg was listed as a co-driver along with Schlesser and Gregory. I wish I could confirm he actually spent time in the car during the race. I believe you or someone said Chinetti Jr. did not remember it. Gil
I think i see Chiron, (Looks like Bira just behind), Fangio, Tarufi on the right, and a very young looking Bandini, though i'm sure he would look older than that there in 1959
Definitely Bandini. He was born in Dec. of '35 so he would have been 23 (and pretty much of an unknown) in the spring of 59.
Are these scans of your recent contact sheet purchases Boudewijn ? The other guy i couldnt think of at the time, talking to Fangio...maybe Scarlatti ?
Spot on Paul. Here are 2 shots of Fangio with.............. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are the two shots of Fangio with his protege Bordeu? In the last shot, Harry Schell is on the right; the flat cap to the left looks to belong to Bernard Cahier; and I've seen the gentleman in the tie somewhere too............. Paul M
Yes, that's who I thought; all my books are still packed after a house move, and I can't find a photo on the web. Paul M
Lovely scans Boudewijn, They make for some interesting topics of conversation. I nearly considered going for them myself, but thought i'd leave you to it. And yes, does look like Bordeu
Like Paul said. Unknown photographer. But as these questions are asked I started wondering if it is was prudent to put them up here. May be I should delete them.
