About two months ago, I posted some questions about painting and gluing resin models and received quick responses. Which I appreciated and it helped me with the decision to purchase one such model on eBay.

It finally arrived on Wednesday and it is very nice - better than I expected - but as I later read up on, they sometimes have air bubbles due to the imperfect casting process. This one has a few of those air bubbles, so my question is:

What kind of filler can I use to fill in these air bubbles/voids?

As for the model, I'll post pics of it and the progress of construction in another thread, but FYI: it's a 1:24 scale Fiat Abarth 750 GT Zagato "Double Bubble" made by Bermat in Italy. There's almost no info about it on the web, just a listing in ABC Brianza's catalogue, but the eBay seller claimed only 16 kits were made. True or not, I'm sure it is really rare but I don't care about that - I'm really happy just to have it!

Here is a bit of a trick for filling small holes that only works on resin.
Fill the hole with baking soda and then apply some fast curing (crazy glue type)
glue to the hole. The chemical reaction fills it completely.
Perhaps some modest sanding will be required.
    Try an inconspicuous one first.

if you use superglue, you must sand it before it has hardened completely.

The reason is that cured superglue is mutch harder than the resin, and can result inn a raised area after sanding.

Allso if you are after a perfect mirrorlike paintjob, i reccomend using a primer called "Mr Surfacer" It is a Japanese made primer for models, and it is better than the rest put together.
It is not imorted directly to the US, but many dedicated model shops carry them.

As for paint, a thinned nail warnish is excellent, (if you have a paintbrush)

I recommend the Tamiya Polyester putty plastic filler. Keep a little rubbing alcohol nearby to clean up your fingers so you do not leave a big nappy finger print elsewhere on the car while admiring your work.
