Hey man.....you post chit about him where he can't respond and now you drag stuff on here from another site.....come on man. You seem to love the drama. Maybe you should be buying everyone here the Orville Redenbachers.
Hate drama. Love the truth. But I'll buy the popcorn! I did not ask for a "you a re a child" PM. Guy got banned for a reason and is hardly a pro. hey...you love him...go for it. what do I care?
Thats why they are PMs. Private being the key word here and its from another site to boot. His banning was wrong in many members eyes and you know it. If you have ever seen any of the work Dave has done or is doing.....he is most definitely a pro. Im anal about the work I do and cars I look at and it is very hard to find any faults in his work. You may not like him...good for you. I didnt at one time either and then I met the man. The internet and its forums don't always express the tone in ones voice when posting and thats where many go wrong on here.
Anyone who doubts Dave's professionalism should take a look at his thread over at life and see the job he is doing, not on the sticky parts, but on the entire engine teardown. Here are before and after picts of the front pulley, cleaned and ready to be sent out for re-plating. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
dude, he sent you a PM..deal with it like an adult privately because he didn't publicly insult you, especially in a forum where he can't even reply...honestly, start growing up.....
Guys, don't start posting positive comments about Dave because the "community" will close this thread.
I would add to not post negative comments as well simply to troll/eat popcorn or you'll drive people to the other site. Dave and Robbie are BOTH good guys providing a needed service. Start acting like grown ups and not spoiled, bratty kids who bully the deaf and mute kid on the playground. You guys are better than that and should act like it. Sent via itty bitty electrons
Dave calling you a child , if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black . I think he has a big red button on his keyboard " report to mods " 1994 ferrari 348 spider , third owner purchased may 2013 w/ 27804 miles
If they don't like Dave why didn't they delete this thread in the beginning? I don't underst Dave getting banned either. I have been way more abrasive then him at times. I think people should be able to post on here about work they have had done and what they feel about the work. That's why it's a forum not an advertisement for a certain company. Fabbspeed gets their underwear in a bunch because I post that there are way better options than their headers. If they don't like it they are free to retort or build a better header. I am glad we have sponsors and I like this forum but honestly they only sponsor because they want to advertise and promote their products. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but that's the truth. Their not my friends. We don't shower or take long walks in the park together. All have been great to work with I will say. I want the best product at the best price. I don't think you can go wrong with SNM or Dave. Let people have a choice. One thing i will say about Dave if I have an issue I can give him a call and help is there. Watson seems like you have something personal with Dave. I hope it isn't about that PM . People have a choice let them voice their opinions and let others decide. Just my 2cents
Dave was throwing insults all over the place. Personal shots. Immature comments. Calling people "children". His ban was earned...twice no less. Not directed at you, but in general I really don't care whether guys use him for repairs. But don't expect to come on here and publicly praise the guy without some honest counter opinions. He bought a tumbler. Big deal I have had one for years. He has an ultrasonic tank at his shop and discovered he can clean plastic bits. Great....the shop down the street has a ultrasonic tank as well. There is a paying sponsor that has been nothing but professional throughout this. He has a track record of doing things correctly with proper details. I would walk my parts to StickNoMore before sending them to Dave.
Yada yada yada......If you read the last 8 or 9 posts......they should have told you something. You along with a couple others on here are against most of what anybody says that you don't agree with. Dave was one of those that contributed the type of stuff that makes places like this a helpful place for many owners to come to and solve problems. Guys like you and a couple of others love the drama and the soap opera type atmosphere that you create. Unfortunately Rob L made a mistake and banned Dave over something that went down the wrong way. It had nothing to do with anything Dave said to other members. If I was the owner of this forum I would ditch people like you and Drbob and bring back Dave. But then again this is Robs site not mine. I don't go crying to Rob when someone calls me out on something as the above mentioned do quite frequently. Maybe some of you should spend more time chilling instead of festering as it is very obvious that there are a few in here that pretend to know about these cars when in actual fact you know nothing.
Yada yada yada. Dave deserved what he got. He is an immature fool. You like him great, I don't. So what? Yada yada yada. I know more about these cars than most...and know when to shut up and listen when someone who knows more than me is talking. You aint that person...nor is Dave.
Anyhoo... I'm going to do all my stickies in a couple of months time. I don't give a **** who does it as long as the quality is absolutely top-notch. Is there any difference in the process that the various options use? I want the result to look and feel OEM, but not deteriorate in a couple of years and have to be done again.
+1 I would like to see comparison photos of the two services to see which finished product looks and feels the closest to the OEM. Also, would love to see long term durability. I know, I am asking a lot.
Guys, you're rapidly using up that long rope the mods are giving you. Don't hang yourselves with it. I'd like to see the results, that's what's important.
If I started a thread about the sun coming up in the morning there will be an argument about it. Jesus Christ. Someone complemented someone on a job done. Get over it.
None of refinished surfaces are the same as the OEM finish. The original finish was of the "soft feel" type that is still used on many hard plastic parts including my Verizon remotes for the cable boxes. It becomes sticky over time. No one to my knowledge is refinishing these pieces with that soft feel OEM finish. The soft feel stuff is being removed and a paint like finish is applied to the bare plastic surface. The evaluation of the end product is a subjective opinion if the hard finish applied after the stikcy removal has a texture and sheen that looks appropriate. Period.
Well hold on isn't this what capitalism is all about? One guy has the secret formula. Another guy arrives at the same formula/different formula and undercuts the pricing/etc. Competition. Businesses become more efficient. Businesses go out of business and/or consolidate. Rinse. Repeat.
