Makes me wonder whether he'll even bother to qualify or just go the end of the grid with the fuel and setup for the race.

Yeah I was wondering that as well. Say he passes thru the first two knockout rounds and eventually qualifies fourth quickest. He gets a 10 spot penalty and therefore grids up in 14th. However drivers 11-20 have the option of fueling as much as they want to while Massa can carry only a maximum of what he started of in Qualy session 3. So a difficult decision for Brawn and Co.

But maybe starting on 14th is better than 22nd as there is traffic to contend with on his route to the front.

I'm sure they're going to "do a Kimi" with him. That traffic will resolve itself as Sepang is wide and he'll be on a completely different fuel strategy.

Having said that: What is the forecast for Sepang? If the weather plays tricks (as it has in the past), all strategizing goes out the window when the boys come in for wet tires.

perhaps the team is hedging their bets on engine longevity. if micheals car cooks a motor at least massa has a shot with a new engine.

that will be interesting to see if Massa in a Ferrari can do same the same thing Kimi does in McLaren.

That will let Kimi think about switching to Ferrari. In Mercedes he's got a car that he can drive from dead last to podium.

My rationale was not related to the car, but the driver.

What Kimi did in Bahrain (as well as in Japan) was out of this world great stuff. Massa isn't capable of that. I'm no Kimi fan, but I have to hand him this one. At the same time he put JPM in his place for good.

I have a hard time taking Massa seriously. He seems to me like the latest in a long line of F1 seat-fillers, ala De Cesaris, Rosset, de la Rosa, whatever. Drivers who are adequate, but really are just driving the second car in pursuit of points and the odd lucky win. Rather than feeling sad about a grid penalty for an engine change, he should still be doing cartwheels for winning Wonka's Golden Ticket and getting to drive for the Scuderia this year. I wonder if he even has a permanent locker at Fiorano?

Hey guys -- politics & business ... not racing.

If it weren't for Jean Todt's kid, Massa wouldn't be in our stables.

Kimi sucks during interviews & has no emotion like MS (two arm shuffle inside car when win) but I would love to see him in our red car !!

He has shown emotions in the past. Just ask some of the marshalls around the tracks...

Appears that it's going to be hot and humid. Looks like Michael's and Nico's kind of race with showers expected.

Looks like Massa isn't alone, Coulthard also had an engine change.

TiFosi12 .... yea I agree ...but that's the only time. I love to see the MB car always having problems, not because it helps us win , but I like to see the few seconds the TV shows Kimi going alittle crazy, I laugh every time ... but if he's a red car driver post race will be boring.

Kimi, you started from the pits, passed everybody, had a near miss with Alonso and managed to put your Ferrari on the top of the podium with tires that looked like slicks after the race! Talk us through it.

    Kimi: "ItwasokayIguess"

Interviewer: "So Fisi, how does it feel get a good result after all these races"
Fisi: "I feel veri appy .. I have been unlucky so many times but today I feel 'appy"

Interviewer: "So Ralf, can you explain why you lost three places at the start and finished out of the points"
Ralfie *thinking a bit* "Well, an alien came out of the clouds and blasted a laser beam down on me"
"No Ralf, that was the opening sequence of Independence Day ... please think up a better excuse next time"

Kimi is Kimi. Sunday he was GOD in a race car. Is a personality transplant a prerequisite to to success. I think not. If Kimi comes to the DARK SIDE I hope they have a car worthy of him.
