Hey! Has anyone successfully installed the Morimoto tails on their euro spec car? I've tried and I'm running into an issue and it seems as though they do indeed have slightly different wiring. The wiring diagram for Morimoto says the (US) cars harness is missing a wire for each light, but my euro spec car has 4 wires on the grey clip instead of 3 like pictured. I think that's throwing it off.

    See pics attached-

    The current result is -

#1 - Break Lights work fine - No running lights - Turn indicator lights the reverse light (flashes like an amber should) - rear fog switch turns on amber LED - No reverse light while in reverse

or swap the wire harness and get:

#2 - Break lights are Amber LED - Running lights work fine, No turn indicators, Reverse light works with reverse, rear fog switch turns on break lights

I've got a call into Morimoto and they are basically waiting for one of their customers who has installed them to respond so I thought maybe one of you guys out there as figured this out.

So you bought the USA kit for a Euro car?

I've tried to figure this out before for someone else, and offered a possible wiring modification, but I didn't get any feedback and then Morimoto said they were going to produce a Euro adaptor.

There is a long and convoluted thread here:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148973449/

There are lots of corrections, so you may have to read the whole thread. There are two possible ways of doing it.... Modifying the OEM harness or modifying the Morimoto harness. The only thing I'm worried about is the resistance value for the turn signals. The resistance has to match the Euro Hazard/Turn Module. I don't know if the US Morimoto circuits match the Euro Hazard/Turn Module.

On the 360/430 forum, a Morimoto incompatibility issue was noted with some Scud-Ing Swiss products. I'm not 100% sure of the outcome of that.

Ahhh this is perfect! I think that thread has the answer. What search terms did you use to find that? I tried searching for 15 mins before I posted this..

Did you start your search on the 348/355 Forum? I just remembered that I had put some effort into trying to figure out the wiring so I used “Morimoto” and “Qavion” (username) and looked for a thread title I recognised.
I know it’s recommended that the search function is used, but a lot of old messages contain outdated and simply wrong information (including some of my older messages) :p

If you’re not in a rush, personally I would wait until Morimoto have figured it out. I wouldn’t recommend chopping up OEM harnesses (or repinning or experimenting with expensive Morimoto harnesses unless you have the tools/expertise … and deep pockets should something go awry).

Ok so the diagram in the thread you listed totally works! I ended up just buying some of the same connectors to make an adapter from the stock connector to the morimoto connector. This saved me from cutting or messing with the morimoto clips. (I tried to remove the pin but the pin lock doesn’t really want to come out so I decided to just leave it rather than damage it.)

    Here’s the clips that work:

Morimoto is not interested in making a different harness for euro cars or customers, trust me, I tried in all of my 5 phone calls to them! At least they answer the phone and were trying to be helpful.

The turn signals have the correct resistance, and everything is is perfect - the only thing that you lose function on are the rear fog lights.. so I suppose I’ll have to tackle the front lower “fogs” and hook them up to that switch like the US spec cars.

    Brilliant! Thanks for the feedback.

Ah.. yes... I kind of forgot about the rear fogs (not sure if they're legal in the USA). I do know there are relay differences in the frunk relating to fogs/daylight flashers. I don't know if the relay panel is wired up different (internally) or if the USA car uses provisional wiring connections that aren't used on the Euro car. Anyway, I should have wiring diagrams to suit Euro and USA cars. Do you have a 2.7 or 5.2 car?
