......to paraphrase the title of a von Suppe overture. Actually, there's no "Noon" here, so I guess a more proper title would be "Breakfast & Dinner Car Shows in Cobb County".

The "Breakfast" was the monthly "Caffeine & Octane" meet in East Cobb. This was the biggest one ever, with over 60 cars, and I found out why: a few days earlier the event was apparently profiled in the Cobb section of the AJC!

One of the newcomers was the delightful Morgan Super Sports 3-wheeler. Watching the owner start this thing up was quite something! And I did like the license plate on the Porsche.

    More pics to follow tomorrow.

The evening show was another informal gathering, also held monthly, at the Sonny's Bar-B-Q in Austell. Although sponsored by a Chevy club, I thought most of the more interesting vehicles were Fords! And as for the F-car, it's in the background of the 7th pic, beyond the '60 Ford Sunliner.

That '60 Ford brought back an interesting memory. For about 4 years in the early '60s, I was taken to elementary school in San Juan, PR, in one of a fleet of purple '60 Ford taxicabs! The cab company was owned by the father of one of my classmates. And considering the reputation of the Puerto Ricans as being wild drivers, not one kid was ever hurt in one of these cabs. I guess the owner laid down the law to his drivers!

The "Italian cavalry" finally showed up, in the form of a gorgeous '59 Alfa, which I believe is the same car that won "Best in Show" at Italian Car Day a few years ago. And for a parting shot I chose the interior of the '60 Ford Sunliner. I don't remember those cars as being as long as they were; standing behind the car, even the back seat looked like it was in the next county!
