Morning run with pics and video .. Hi Guys, Waking up to a lovely summers morning here in Sydney prompted me to take the 328 for a drive with my daughter for the first time since its service back on December 10. The car drove magnificently and there are two points of interest worth mentioning. Firstly, as part of the service the air-conditioning was re-gased and new seals and o rings fitted to the compressor. The recent talk of facing the vents towards the screen DEFINITELY WORKS!!!!!!!!! I was amazed how much more consistent the flow was. That said, the targa top was off and it was only a warm morning, not a 100o+ day. We all know the air-conditioning in these cars is adequate at best but it was certainly an improvement of what I remember previously. Secondly, also as part of the service I had the gear oil changed and took Maurices advice and mixed 4 quarts of Redline NS with 1 quart of Redline non-NS. The results are fantastic. No second gear selection issues when cold and a 20% improvement on shift quality through the rest of the gears. Honestly guys I cant recommend this mix strongly enough. It has made the car so much easier and nicer to drive. The other upgrade I had done was to go with NGK Iridium plugs. I dont know how much better these are to the STD NGK plugs but they seem a lot better than the OEM Champion A6G plugs that came out. All in all Im really happy with the end result and look forward to a year of enjoyable driving with my 328. I apologies for the quality of pics and video, they were taken with my crappy 2.0Mp Nokia cell phone. Cheers and all the best to everyone for 1010. Bob. Looks like Akuna Bay to me? Drop me a line next time and the black car might come along as well. I might try that Redline mix as well. At the moment I am using all Redline NS, it is better than Royal Purple but I would like better agian. What oil did you have in it before this? Steve
Hi Steve, We went to Berowra Waters........ I presume it just had the normal AGIP gear oil but I'm not 100% sure. I did put AGIP Sint 2000 engine oil in it if that's what you mean. Cheers, Bob.
Great to see it worked out for you Bob and great to see that you and your daughter had a great drive...now just wait until she starts asking for the keys As someone who has seen Bobs car in person...its absolutely immaculate and Bob is extremely thorough at detailing....might have to get some tips off you mate ...If I finish early enough from work and the weather's fine I might pop down for a drive next wednesday as inlaws live at Dee Why and could meet my wife there after..
Yes it is...... well sort of. I'm pretty sure it was built in December 1988 but compliance March 1989 here in Australia it's number 79844. Bob.
Thanks mate..... I haven't made any comments yet as I didn't attend the Club presentation dinner but a little bird told me it did very well at the state concourse. Hope to see you there. Bob.
