Bye bye !!
It would be stupid for Lewis to even consider quiting because of something that will be forgotten by the next race in 2 weeks. I think Lewis is just feeling abit alone and depressed at the moment when the team start to make leaps forward which they will he feel much better and for get all about it.
Did you watch Lewis last year? He spent more times sideways than the rest of the field combined. He loves kerb hopping, while most drivers slide off the track if they hit kerbs too hard. The funny part is that drifting may actually be the quickest way around Monaco -- until you lose it with the armco right there. And Lewis is two for two in hitting the armco in Monte Carlo. I don't mean not a genuine driver. He just comes across as scripted in some of the interviews. (And has foot-in-mouth syndrome in others -- such as when he got vetoed by his dad from taking up that challenge late last year.) His dad comes across as a "stage mom" ... to someone raised around New York. (Maybe that's just my bias against parents making a living off their kids.) But both McLaren and Hami, Sr. have large financial investments in Lewis' F1 career. So leaving F1 isn't really an option Lewis can take without a lot of bridge burning.
I think the team is very controling of every aspect...including the drivers...I don't know why you guys are bashing Alonso or Hamilton. To me it sounds Hamilton is starting to have difficulties in the team...just like Alonso did when he was there, I would love to see Alonso at Ferrari...but again look at Massa and Kimi, do you think they're happy at Ferrari...I don't think so, so I believe the team are to blame as much or more than the drivers.
Shakespere?? Or Sean Connery, I forget which. Yes I know Connery is a Scot, but to us gringo yankees, they all look the same. :}
Why be furious? Simply DON'T lie to the officials!! He KNEW they could pull up the radio conversations!
IMO this is a very clever PR move to rehabilitate the Hamilton "brand". McLaren has been tainted and Lewis while not seriously considering leaving the team or the sport is establishing his identity (and honor) as separate from the McLaren "brand". Very clever move.
LH is just showing himself a whiner - again - who gets his panties in a wad, wants to pick up all of his toys and go home. Scripted or not, I don't care. But Lewis' crap crying about everything and his sense of entitlement is quite old.
I think it may have been sort of PLANNED that way - (especially considering his father had time to weigh in)...but I think there is a real danger of a backlash, and a bad one. Just how many times are the die-hard fans going to put up with yet another performance of the cry-baby wail: "I think I may just quit over this"? It doesn't look good to whine that when we all know he won't. It certainly doesn't look good to have to run to weird uncle Max to get over it...MAX???? Think about it. You told the lie yourself and will have to man up to it. I have said it before: the Hamilton P.R. problems are almost all about what he says and does off the track - hardly anything to do with his work on the track, which is normally remarkable. Give or take a few mistakes, which almost everybody else makes once in a while.
Am I the only one getting a sense of Senna/Prost deja-vu regarding the way the LH/FA situation played out? Remarkably similar to 88/89...
To me it seems that there is no honor amongst teams. Hamilton snitched on his team in a split second to save his own A$$.
My point exactly. IMO the planning was done by the Hamiltons. Max had very little to do with it all but they do run a risk by injecting him into any situation. The real danger is that all the off track BS will interfere with his on track performance.
If Hamilton wants to leave then let him, There are plenty of hot young drivers out there that would fill his void in less than 2 seconds. So long bye bye! F1 is not one driver, but many.
. To me it sounds Hamilton is starting to have difficulties in the team...just like Alonso did when he was there...
+ 1 Yes it seems the common denominator is McLaren. Coincidence that they are involved whenever ethics are called into question?
Funny how such as fast and brave driver can get away with having no testicles. Ham needs to take a page out of Schumi's PR book...when in doubt, f*** all the sayers of nay.
I feel his pain. Why I can remember wanting to quit my first job as a grocery store sacker when a customer or manager would be cross with me I'd want to quit. But then I'd wipe my tears away and change my nappies and soldier on like a good troop. Of course the pay scales dont match. And I didnt have "professional" managers holding my hand giving advice. GOTS to be an April fools joke.
