Which are the most beautiful Ferraris? From artistic point of view, here are some of my favorites and reasons: 1. 360 - curvy, balanced shape with cohesive details. 2. 308 - same reason as above, just more dated. The less attractive current Ferraris are: 1. Enzo - exotic but many strange angles result in an incoherent theme, particularly the C pillar. 2. F430 - basic shape is 360 but the details are incoherent and haphazardly put together. I'm a rookie, so just ignore this thread if this has been discussed many times before.
most beautiful: 1. 250 gto 2. 250 gt california spyder less beautiful: 1. i honestly can't think of one, i have to admit, i like some more than others, but wouldn't call any less beautiful
Most Beautiful....too many to mention! (599, 250 series, daytonas, 360 to name a few) Least attractive.....MONDIAL!!!
Best Lookin: 250 SWB 250 TDF 246 GT (if we count Dinos) Ain't a looker: some of the early cars that were bodied by Vignale
i used to think that, but after i got a ride in cfcarriage's mondial a while back, my thoughts changed. it's not as sporty as some of the others out there, but if you get to see one up close and personal it's an amazing machine
Most Beautiful: California Spyder Least: 308GT4 WITH bumpers. Euro versions are hot. There needs to be another category: Which one makes your blood burn most?
Most = 250lm Least = 400/412 (not that thier a bad looking car in general, but not beautiful) Cheers! DT
For all time: The 250 GT SWB Spyder California may be the most attractive car ever made, especially with the early covered headlights. (The 250 GTO is a legendary car, and maybe the most important historically, but having seen one in person, IMO it doesn't rate as the most beautiful.) The spyder version of the 330 is a stunner as well. Among the modern cars, the 355 is probably the best proportioned of the lot. Bulldog stance, Boxer-esque buttresses, elegant and clean sides -- everyone seems to like the looks of it. Runner up is the 550/575M, which will still look fantastic in 20 years and has the prettiest headlamps, 'shoulders' and tail treatment on a modern car. (Worst would be Enzo, 599, 360/430 -- not ugly cars, but not evocative as Ferraris --- they seem as though they could have come from some other company. The Enzo is jarring and the 599 is a dull hodgepodge.) Among the classics: Daytona spyder wins. It really ushered in modern sports car design, and the stance and design (in and out) are spellbinding. Euro 308 and 328 are runners up - it's hard to overstate how influential those cars have been. Then the F40, which I love, but which has a kind of boy-racer demeanor to it that makes it less 'pretty' and more 'purposeful'. (Worst could be 400i.) Regarding the Mondial: I agree with the Mondial comment above. I wasn't a fan - always loved the 308/328 more. Then Forza magazine had an issue a couple of years ago with a red 328 and black Mondial 3.2 coupe on the cover. Maybe it was because the Mondial was black, and because I had just looked at dozens of red 328s and was getting burnt out on red 328s, but I finished the article with my preconception jarred a bit: the Mondial really outshone the 328 in that particular situation. Had the 328 been black and the Mondial red, I might have felt differently. But the point is that the Mondial is underrated. Put it next to any 'normal' coupe now and you'll see what I mean. With the 308/328 taillights, neatened up Mondial T side grilles/bumpers and classic five-spoke 'star' wheels a la Daytona/Boxer/308/328/TR, it holds its own.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, but personally I find the 4 seaters are generally less attractive than the 2 seaters. And I include my own car in that.
Most beautiful: 250 GTO and GTO/64 250 GT Lusso 308 GTB (Euro bumpers only) 250 Testa Rossa (pontoon fenders) 330 P3 and P4 312 F1 (1967/68 without wings) 312 B1 126 C2 F1-89 Least beautiful: 365 GT4 2+2 and 400 308 GT4 (U.S. bumpers) F512M 312 B3 "Spazzaneve" 312 T4 126 C4
All Ferrari's are beautiful but some are better than others Most beautiful: 250GTO 250 California 330P4 250TR (theres more but those are my favorites) Least Beautiful Testarossa, 512TR, 512M etc. 400i
Most beautiful: 355 Berlinetta Stradale 250 GTO 330 P4 288 GTO F50 550 Least beautiful: F430 550 Barchetta/Superamerica 612 I'm still up in the air in regards to the 599 and Enzo. I'll have to see them in person.
Off the top of my head... 2-seat: 250TDF 275GTB 275GTS 4-seat: 400 Superamerica 250GTE/330America More controversial models: 330 GT 2HL & 4HL...Not among the best 4-seaters overall, but still a good looking car. Objectively, I'll agree that the 2HL is the "purest"; the 4HL config is absolute perfection from some viewpoints, a little awkward from others, but has a pizzazz that the 2HL lacks. I can't complain about public response to the 4HL...the number of compliments I've gotten on mine is beyond belief. Mondial...a nice, neat little car, very clean design, understated. 365GT/4 2+2/400...grows on you...again, a clean understated design. Enzo: didn't like at first, now love, after seeing a few and having the opportunity to examine one close-up for an hour. Masterpiece.
Most beautiful: Ferrari 250 GT California Spider SWB Perfect lines, perfect proportions Least beautiful: Ferrari 250 "Breadvan" Looks like a mutant stationwagon
The is such a thing as least beautiful Ferrari? Wait a sec here, what forum am I logged into again? No matter what series Ferrari, I see a certain amount of beauty in all of them. Though the Superamerica's from 1956 on may not be my cup of 7 day old Clam Chowder, they have a certain Ferrari appeal to them. Only two make the cut in my book for the ultimate appealing Ferrari's' F40, F512m
Overrated: the newer ferraris that are "rounded" that can be mistaken for a honda by untrained eye. Not that the Squared off ferraris like the TR and Enzo are neccessarily pretty, though....
