I remember reading this in a thread weeks ago but can't find it again. What's the opinion of the most comfortable seat in the 458? Is it the standard, daytona style or the racing seat?

I don't remember which section it was in, but I read on here a lot of people think the daytona seat is better for the second owner.
When the leather is more subtle, as they are quite firm when new, and uncomfortable to some after after 20 mins or so of driving.

Standard seats are bad for me because of lack of lumbar support.
I have no problem with the sport seats...

I can only tell you that I sat in a racing seat a few weeks ago and was shocked at how comfortable it was. It certainly doesn't look it.

Now, I have no idea how it would feel after being in it all day. So, part of it depends on how you intend to use the car.

I have back pain and have the Daytona seats in my California and the quilted diamond stitched on my 458. I can't tell any noticeable difference between the two types.

I sat in the sport seat for a brief period and loved it, it was very comfortable. Apparently some seats have harder leather and take a short time to actually break in but then are softer and comfortable. From what I've seen it would appear the consensus for the sport seats seem to be positive

+1. No milage either, but from ten minutes in the seat it felt as if it had been custom made for me it was so comfortable.

I got two days at Mont Tremblant in the 458 with full electric seats. Then I was fortunate enough to get seat time on three separate occasions in the Racing Seats. Believe it or not the Racing Seats fit me better, supported my back and my legs better and flat out felt better than the full electric seats. I had to try it three times just to be sure I wasn't somehow imagining it. Oh and did I mention that the Racing Seats actually look better to my eye.

You know there is one thing about growing old that they never tell you.....okay there is probably more than one thing....:)

Your peripheral vision improves dramatically as you get older. You can see alot more stuff in your peripheral vision.....the only problem is that none of the stuff you see is real:)

I experience back pain due to inadequate lumbar support in standard seats, w/o electric adjustments. Amazing to have a brand new, expensive exotic, and have to endure something so basic as 'back pain' when driving for longer than 40 minutes! I've heard the sport seats provide much better lumbar support and are comfortable on long drives, as well as on the track.

My friend who bought his 458 with electric seats was shocked how much more comfortable were the racing seat when he tried them for 2 days in the Pilota training in Maranello... the difference was so big that after that he was considering changing the seats.

In the racing seats, I have often driven 300-400 miles in a day without any problem- the lumbar support is just great.

I had the racing seats in my '10. Went with the full electric seats for my '11. The racing seats, like the scuderia seats force you to sit in the shape of the seat, which is curved which doesn't allow you to sit with a straight spine. With the full electric seat you can use the lumbar control to 'straighten' out the curved back and sit without hunching over, more in keeping with the shape and support of porsche's sport seat and most of bmw's seats. But boy, do those racing seats lock you in place. The electric seats I drove in at exotic racing in Las Vegas were definately adequate in terms in lateral bracing though.
