    Hi!
I received my 512BB a week ago, and after some fantastic miles on the road I have done a little maintenance work.

The steering rack bushing on the passenger side were completely destroyed.

So I have made a new out of bronze.

Out of curiosity, what do you think is the most effective way to remove/install the steering rack onto the car?
    I think I struggled unnecessarily:)

In other words, how would a Ferrari mechanic do it?

1.Remove the steering rack mounts completely , then removing the steering rack?

2.Or keeping the steering rack mounts on to the steering rack and remove the whole unit?

…and, would you loosen the steering column/shaft to make the installation easier?
I did not do this, and struggled a bit to get the correct angle to fit the steering shaft onto the rack.

    Also,
Are poly versions of the steering rack mount bushings available, or are rubber the way to go?
