At least 455 toward the west still provides an unimpeded 3-mile run over the Lake Ray Roberts dam, with minimal risk of critters running out in front of you at speed. Once DNT reaches Celina, I fear 455 will be crowded 7 x 24.
this is a great tool that came out a couple years ago, slim pickings in Texas, but many of them good for low traffic. just compare how many more in Arkansas and southern Missouri. Image Unavailable, Please Login
When we drove out there on Saturday, I noticed that the barriers were being put up where Dallas Parkway is going to continue north of FM 428…. The reality is the tollways going farther North than Celina …. S
Between Celina and Pilot Point Dallas Parkway is headed both north and south. They started construction at 455 and are going south to 428 where the current parkway ends. At 455 you can see concrete to the north headed towards FM121 east of Tioga and back to the south. At the 455 intersection, just to the west, a new subdivision will be breaking ground this summer. 1,826 lots. It ain't the country no more.
Sanger Popo and county mounties seem to be patrolling up and near the dam me frequently of late. 455 east of 377 has maybe a few years of decent driving left - if that - before it's overrun with strip malls and housing subdivisions. Just about need to be up to 121 and Gunter before you can escape the sprawl. T
Yup. Lost cause, I'm afraid. FM 902 from Collinsville to Dorchester is still a nice run, or at least it was a few months ago! [emoji2] T
