curious what everyone thought .. my vote goes for the "combination switch" stalk column wiper/headlight switch, 2nd runner up would be a tie between the dist caps or the ignition wires. Obviously there are the 16" wheels. wondering if others have come across a part that you thoguth WOAH, this can't be!

How about parts you can't even get anymore like the little plastic piece that goes between the door pull and the outside of the door. I saw one guy selling them for $55 and he doesn't even have anymore!

I agree so far it looks like the dist. caps or the cables win in my mind ( yes I know the cross reference thread is invaluable) but still not sure what is so special about the HT wires...the crazy cost of some parts seems to be due to one of two causes a). no longer available or b). simply has that horsey on it... and I thought (all) maserati parts were insanely priced. but once in a while you come across a 308 part with a price that is not just expensive ( expect that in any high end euro car..) but the price is so far out of whack that just makes no sense.

How about the Digiplex, usually between $1000. and $1800 and the damn car has two of them.

Can you send me some info, that would be ideal. I actually am thinking of going to MSD, but to rebuild the originals would work too.

Not for a 308, but I had a short in my Daytona sigarette lighter (so the horn did not work, of course). WWoC ordered the original lighter for $208, only to discover that the wiring did not work. So, they had to replace it with a standard period lighter that cost a whopping $16.

Sorry, but this idiom isn't translatable into Italian.

My first purchase on the 308 was wires & caps. OUCH!
my cheapest was the door lock knobs at $11.00 each.

    I think it's time for a group buy....an unloved 308 for parts.

fuse boxes on the mid 80s cars are outragous especially given the fact they are POS. Brake light switch on my mondial was like 60 bucks, comparable fiat part -$15

Headgaskets. WWoC (thieves) wants $500/ea now for them. Last I bought one, it was $225, even that was a crock considering it's identical in construction to the $35 Fel-pro you can get for any normal engine.

I've got a bunch of used stuff I pulled off when swapping to EFI; digiplexes, the entire K-jet and sensors, 4v dizzy's (pickups), coils, fuel lines & pipes, fuel injectors, flywheel, clutch, etc. if any of you guys are ever looking. I'm gonna put it all on ebay someday, theoretically.
