I am hosting some good friends, who are car guys but not F1 fans, for a USGP watching party. They are brand new to F1 and I want to offer them a concise, helpful primer that won't overwhelm, and will add to their enjoyment of watching the race.

What are the few most important things to explain to them? I will have the speed broadcast and another TV showing Live Timing.

If you're watching Speed, expect the noobs to be well catered for. Speed is expecting new viewers and will skew the commentary in that direction.

    +1 Pretty good summary.

If they're Taxicab fans maybe mention the huge amount of data streaming back to the pits - The guys on the wall & in the back of the garage aren't playing video games..... Banned (rightly or wrongly is another debate) in Nascar of course.

Enjoy - Hopefully it'll be a good one!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Great race for a newbie, one would hope they are now hooked.

It was fantastic, when the football crowd came over just now for Sunday night football, the newbies spent a few ninutes telling the football crowd about the race and how much they enjoyed it.
