Most Lavish Celebrity???

Diddy comes to mind right away, as does David Beckham. After giving it a bit more thought, the Cash Money Millionaires (specifically Birdman) live pretty lavishly. I think it was on MTV Cribs he said that at the time, he owned over 50 cars. Plus he had the most expensive piece of jewelry in the business at the time, which was a $2.2 mil cross around his neck.

 

David Geffen does it right. Word also has it Elton John sits in his hotel and regularly blows >300K per month, just on clothes.

 

Speaking of Cash Money, I wonder what Juvenile is up to these days. He used to live about 10-15 minutes from me. His house was repossessed, the story going around was that the homeowners assoc. was giving him problem because of his hummer parked in the yard and his tour bus parked in the street and his loud parties so to get back at them he stopped paying his mortgage. Not totally understanding how it all worked his house was taken, that is the rumor anyway.

Elton John and micheal jackson come to mind.

 

These guys and NBA/NFL very commonly make a lot of cash fast blow it on stuff they really can't afford, and then they are broke when they are 30 and can't play/rap anymore.

I think it was a Chris Rock comedy skit that talkes about the difference between traditional weatlhy people and the Ni*** Rich crowd. No racism intended on my part, but it's a really funny skit of his.

Richard Branson is worth an estimated $5 billion I believe....He's actually pretty modest in comparsion to other billionaires. His business approach is flamboyant, but his lifestyle isn't lavish. Plus, he's a celebrity because he's a businessman. He's own a nice island and safari place in S. Africa, but he rents it out as well. He flys his own airline, and uses taxis to get around I believe. As for celebrities and pro athletes, 95-96% spend it as fast as they get it.

Plus, you can't compare a billionaire to a mult-millionaire celebrity, I don't think.

 

Several NBA players come to mind. However; I think Ellison is a good choice.

BTW, Branson is worth over $3 billion, I think.

 

For me......George Hamilton. I read somewhere he wears a new pair of socks every day. He never washes or wears a pair twice.

His island (Necker) is in the Virgin Islands & forms part of his exclusive property/hotel business. He has Neck, a game reserve place in South Africa, somewhere in the Balearic Islands & a couple of others I believe.
Most of the time Necker is rented out at upwards of $130,000 a week.

I was lucky enough to spend 3 nights there a few years ago (at someone else's expense I might add!) & it is just awesome. They do a couple of weeks a year where you can go pay to just rent a room if you have enough cash - there are only 13 or 14 guest rooms on the island including 2 or 3 cottages. I seem to remember it was about $12,000 per room for the week.

You wonder what Bill Gates, Tiger Woods do for fun, Sultan of Brunei is a great choice, then there is George Soros. Warren Buffett lives incredibly cheap.

I don't think I could ever have one big huge house, I think I'd just own a moderate 5,000 sq foot house somewhere with a 9 car garage (3 wide and 3 deep), and also have about 6-8 condos throughout the USA.

Letsee, Chicago or possibly Madison WI, Austin or Corpus Christi maybe, Huntington Beach or Hermosa Beach, Puget Sound, Martha's Vineyard, some land in Montana...

Not as cool as spending a few nights at Necker, but I have spent a couple night getting pissed at Roof Gardens (www.virginlimitededition.co.uk) the crowd was 18-late 20s and it was pretty evident that there was a lot of money milling around, actually got a free bottle of bollinger becuase I help a guy find his cell phone. The place is amazing, you dont feel like your in the middle of kensington ontop of a building..its surreal!.
