Well, bring the best walking shoes you have because you will do many miles. Remember the track is 5 km long wit a lot of ups and downs.

Hundreds of merchants are settled right and left of the tack including the chicanes. So you have to decide if you do one lap only checking the right side and then another doing the left or if you do it the zig-zag way. There is also a constant coming and going of merchants. Everything is offered there, but if you are looking for something specific it will be almost impossible to find it. You will always have the feeling that the rare item you are searching for is just being sold at the other side of the track. And then there is also the paddock area and the pit lane. But if you just like to browse it is a nice place to go. You might be able to find some good deals.

Bring a trolly with 4 wheels so you don't have to carry things. It might look stupid as long as it is empty but as soon you start buying you will be happy.

Also some excellent restaurants in Imola!

    Have fun!

    Matthias

Thanks Matthias, for your info. I have been to Imola for the (now sadly missed) San Marino GP (5 times), and have walked the infield side of the whole track - you are right about the walking shoes. I can only be there Friday, as I have to be in Munich on Sat. morning, so I am wondering if there is a way to get in early, with the merchants. As a last resort, maybe I could get a merchant space just to get in, but I cannot find any info on costs. Do you have any ideas? Thanks again, Pete

Hi Pete, here you find some info: Mostra Scambio Imola - Home Page - Manifestazione organizzata dal Club Romagnolo Auto e Moto d'Epoca
According to that it doesn't make much sense to go on Friday because they only open for the visitors on 1 pm. And I bet that most of the exhibitors arrive on Saturday. But if you are in the area anyway why not trying to simply sneak in?

Have you ever been to Padova http://www.autoemotodepoca.com/ ? In some ways this is the better show.

I think sneaking in is the best idea. Padova looks good, but won't fit my schedule this year. Maybe 2015. Thanks again. pete

I was there last year and it was incredibly hot, and there's no shelter out on the circuit.
