I'm not familiar with James' other posts, so I'm out of that.

This is an interesting question though. The Porsche, the Ferrari and the Acura all have replacements coming out before the Lambos will be replaced, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone "catches up". I can see the 997 gunning directly for the Lambos, Ferrari pretty much doing it's own thing with the 420, and the new NSX...well... I can't even speculate. Impressive track time already though.

I take back my accusations. Like I said, I was mostly concerned with what I thought was a somewhat uncalled for response to Napolis' post. I'm sure you expect discussion when you post results like this, and again I have absolutely no problem with that. As in my first post, I'm a bit disappointed with the 360's numbers in this test.

The NSX-R is like the Lotus Elise. On paper you don't think its numbers will add up to much in the real world, but when driven it all comes together and throws down times that are inconceivable. It turned in a 7:56 at the Ring on street tires, and that is just insane.

Plus there's Lotus' Esprit replacement, which according to Allan (lol you guys can't escape him) is rumored to be powered by a TT version of a new Toyota V8. That one's further away however, with a tentative launch date beyond 2007.

Napolis. Regarding the LeMan race, it is worth noting that the Lambo was in fact leading at the last pit stop, and would have 'probably' gone on to win the race. It was unfortunat that during the driver change, the exiting driver caught one of the fuses on his driving suit and 'broke' the fuse off. It couldn't be repaired quickly. A freak event if there ever was one. I am not one for excuses, and Ferrari won that race, but on sheer 'performance', Lambo had finally got their act together and was pretty dominant. As other contributors have mentioned though, it seems a bit 'tangental' to keep mentioning the 'racing' history of Ferrari, when all most of us care about is the exitement of owning and driving the road cars. At the moment, Lamborghini has the upper hand. I have no doubt that Ferrari will have an answer for that soon. Whether the Gallardo is faster or not, I really do like and respect the 360CS. Great cars, both of them.

The constant whining everytime a lambo. does something well is soooooo tiring. Makes me feel like a cry baby for being an f-car owner. Numbers do matter and thats why the defensive posture is taken everytime a ferrari doesn't do so well. Thank god this isn't a Notre Dame board someone might get gunned down for any criticism.

Let's see it's 30 minutes to the Ferrari Parts counter.
4.5 hours to the Lambo parts counter.

Napolis...you are of course correct, it was Spain. I was a bit rattled after reading a 3 sentence post from a Canadian without a single 'Eh' in the text. Well, thanks for the correction, i've got to go and put up the storm shutters on my double-wide. Cheers, Casino.

Okay, cool and congrats to Lambo.

I find it funny that the entry level car is faster (just) than their top model.

But what does it all mean?

If you go to another track the times may be different (?). Some tracks suit certain cars, etc.

Thus basically James was saying until Lambo beat Ferrari in a proper FIA series then it mean nothing. Now it looks like this may happen one day, and that will be great because hopefully Ferrari will step up and we the spectators will win as they battle it out.

In the end, as others have said, this hp/performance cr@p for road cars is pointless because you currently are not allowed to use it anyway. Thus in the end the numbers are just ego massaging ... I'm a strong enough person with myself to handle that and buy what I like ... which will probably never be a new Ferrari OR Lambo. Why buy new souless stuff when you can buy Daytonas and Muiras!

There isn't anything I 'm afraid to say to you. I prefer to do it privately.
If you are going to Monterey look me up, I'm very visble.

I'm trying to think What did I ever do to this guy to command such disrespect?
I think you were the guy asking me about my 550 and After I determined
you were in the 100k area I basically told you you were wasting my time.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I know you will after all you are a "consultant"!

At one time you drove cars like the GT 40 and the Lola daily which I've never done as I only use mine as sunday drivers. At some point you wanted a bit more of a civilized daily ride. Here's my question, isn't your choice of a Gallardo baised on how much you enjoyed it when you took it for a test drive?
The G is faster than a 360 no question but at some point isn't the "Total" experience more important esp. for a daily driver? Didn't you pick the G for the total experience? All I'm saying is IMHO track times for a daily driver aren't the thing you should base your decision on.

No I didn't have as much in the way of track info that I have now.
I bought based on a test drive and years of experience buying performance cars. I KNEW this was the right car,the right price and head and shoulders above the competition.

But you know when you spend 180-200k for a vehicle you like re-inforcement now and then so you don't feel so guilty or stupid for spending that kind of dinero on a car!
A magazine article,a track review, positive feedback, it all helps to reinforce
    the purchase decision.

    Excellent point!

The only problem is that next year or month, somebody else will move the bar higher ... thus what do you do?, buy the new car OR live happy in the knowledge that it was once the king?

360 owners could live happy based on that also ... well second hand buyers anyway ;)

First off I really don't care were you live. Why would I waste my time looking you up? I don't even know who the hell you are.

I do figure you are trying to stir the pot regarding the Lambo and Ferrari thing. You can dish out how bad Ferrari's are but you can't seem to take it when sombody calls a shot on a Lambo. Truth hurts don't it. You know the problems Lambo is haveing with your choice of car. You don't like it being broadcast on a piblic forum. Just like many of the Ferrari guys don't like it when a lambo owner bashes Ferrari's. And don't even tell me this was not the intent of the thread. And you signature shows an antagonistic side.

Second why the hell would I call you if I wanted a 550? I have plenty of people here in my country that own them and deal in Ferrari's. And if had ever said I was wasting you time to me you would have definatly remembered my response, very clearly. You have me mistaken for sombody else.

I enjoy your posts but lets keep it a level playing feild. If you are going to attack Ferrari..fine by me..but don't you dare go crying to mommy if sombody else attacks Lambo.
