in june/july she's getting off of her S500 lease, and wants something else/different.

not any strict requirements, but it's gotta be nice. so far i've tried to steer her towards sport sedans like the E63 or M5, but she isn't biting, and I feel like she actually wants a sports car or hardtop 'vert.

my mother can't drive worth a crap [seriously, i fear for my life every time im riding shotgun, and am terrified whenever she's on the phone while driving...and so, I offer to drive every time we go anywhere]

it's kinda a double edged sword. i'm home on the weekends, and i'd get to drive it then, but during the week, i'm not sure it'd be safe to put her behind 500+ HP.

to give you an idea of what she's looking for, so far we've looked at
    -SLK55 AMG
    -CLK63 AMG
    -E63 AMG
    -CLS500
    -Gransport Coupe
    -M5
-Elise/Exige [she loved them, but manual only, so she can't have it :p]
-Carrera S [also loved it, but alas, no auto]

Basically, it's gotta be new [lease], auto/semiauto or have that as an option, if it's a vert it's gotta be hardtop, and around or under 110k. She wants to keep her payments under 1600-1700/mo if possible, so good lease deals are also a plus.

    suggest away!

carrera S comes in a semi auto, tiptronic...

cls 63 is a really nice car, really fast and sporty imo...

Cl 63, pics look funny for reg cl550 but the amg kit makes it look bad a$$

depending on budget, aston vantage and db9...

    Audi rs6

Kinda a weird mix of cars shes lookin at... m5 => clk 63 => slk 55 => elise

hell mine as well throw a bentley gt in there, fast, luxurious and beautiful up close...

Have you looked at the new s550 or s600, they are pretty sweet cars, get the amg package though... same with the new ls460 (or 480 or whatever it is) it looks like like a bimmer but has a ton of sweet stuff packed into it...

to be honest, you may want to consider this instead of the gransport, a nice 4 door sedan, still with the sports car feeling, but without the "looks"

    Lets throw out these ideas:

    -MB SL500
-Cadillac XLR-V (I am a Cadillac man myself so you knew that this was gonna come up)
    -BMW M6 coupe
    -Jaguar XKR coupe
-Maybe a little stretch in the price but Aston Martin Vantage

You already threw out the others that I would suggest

Not too sure about prices, but what about new Jaguar XK or XKR Coupe, or even an XJR saloon?

the sl550 is a great car, my friend's dad has one. he drove the db9, continental gt and a porsche turbo, but said he had the most fun in the benz.
the xk8 is one of my all time favorite cars, the design just seems flawless to me, and honestly their interiors are up to par with a lot of rolls royces and bentleys. those are the only 2 brands that can keep up with the way jag puts wood and leather together.

like i said, not many restrictions, just basically trying to keep it under 110k new -- anything under that price is fair game, pretty much.

Hey guys, budget is at or under 110K.

-I say go look at the XKR...even checking all the boxes on the order form you should come in a hair under a hundred large.
-Don't mean to beat the same old drum but the XLR-V is hard to beat for the money. The price came down about $1,600 bucks this year and I know that Cadillac dealers are discounting them from that price point. BTW if you can hook up an employee discount on the Cadillac the price would be about $86,000 on the XLR-V

I've never heard of a woman who doesn't love jags. You should seriously get her to take a look at the new XK its like a vantage with a lower price tag.

All the cars listed here are pretty much fantastic and worth checking out (except the caddy)

Look at the Audi range. She'll be happy with an A8L! If it's too big for her, then an S6.

She sounds like my mother when it comes to driving. You need to be careful and point her towards things good for her and not just for you. I would not want my mother driving an M5 or E63 or anything like that because it is way too much car for her. Think safety, luxurious interior, does she need a back seat and dealer support close enough around wherever she drives (masseratti may not work) A good hardtop convert for a mother would be the lexus. I would also check out the normal clk, not the AMG.

What about one of the Cadillac semi-sporting cars, like maybe that 2-seater with the supercharger? Or a CTS-V?

very true. she's on call a lot of times and as I said, it's probably not a good idea to put her behind 400-500HP when she's admitting a patient over the phone when she can barely drive as it is.

if she does decide to get a sports car, it'll actually see lots of use [within the mileage terms of the lease, around 15k/yr..so reliability and maintenance is an issue], and she'll be replacing her camry with a luxury sedan, so she can still take her friends out and stuff.

This is true, the CTS-V only comes in a 6 speed tranny...the STS-V, on the other hand, comes in an automatic. I am looking at the STS-V myself...probably won't come to fruition this go around though as the lease prices are a bit outa my reach at the moment.

this weekend she wants to look at 911's or the Cayman with tiptronic. I'm sure she could handle the payments on a more expensive car, but it'd probably be best to go with something a little less expensive since she just bought a new house, and is remodeling the old house for sale.

maybe after she sells off the old house and one of her vacation homes, she might be able to go with something more luxurious. :D
