I am following this thread as I was discussing/negociating with both Martin and Roland such car. Just few words concerning the last monthly Ferrari France Club review. As usual they are presenting a part of the fabulous Ferrari history, this one being dedicated to the racing V8 and V12. Nice presentation of the 250 GTO, BB512 LM, F40 LM and GTE, 355 challenge, 550 maranello GT, 360 and 430 challenge, including full technical description and pics. And the surprise is coming from the F40 LM article presenting three pics, including one from Roland's car!! I was the owner of an F40 stradale as well as a GTE, so I am quite concerned and I was proposing to Martin and Roland to call this car an F40 "LM replica", and now I just discover that the official internal Ferrari review (sponsored and supported by Ferrari West Europe as well as presenting the full range of their products, prices,...) is presenting the "mother" car as an LM. So, we have to restart few months of discussions.
I guess the official factory is looking at this more as "since it was built with the help of Michelotto it is more an LM than anything else." Either way we'll stay with the new description. Just funny that some individuals take themselves more serious than the factory does
David: I need your new phone number and maybe an email? Tried to send you a client for a 30K service and the 561 number did not work anymore. He ended up using a shop in RI. [email protected]
There was no assistance from Michelotto at all. Roland came up with his own group of suppliers none of which included Michelotto although when I owned the car that was my intent. The car was built as a track only car! It was never, in my mind, intended to anything but some hot laps at Moroso, period! Also the myth about Blueprints is just that! All the blueprints are in my head! The car is "a sheep in wolves clothing" as Road & Track would say. I wish everyone the best and no ill feelings towards anyone. I learned well from Martin that everyone that subscribes to this bulletin board is a potential client. Smart business. David
