I caved, and downloaded the google-hosted version myself. Seems snappier, for sure. I'll play with some of the features today and report back.
Still haven't received the OTA, but I did read this morning that there is a second update coming the 18th to allow flash to be downloaded in the market. ie - FRG01B, currently. Then FRG22.
Just got the new update on my Droid this evening. I haven't messed around with it too much yet, but initial impressions are positive.
I'm still waiting. You gave me hope that I could receive it during the day though. The first two updates I've received both came in the morning.
On the fence between the DroidX and Droid2 right now. That huge screen is addicting, but I wonder if it will be to big to carry in some situations?
Got my 2.2 update though no flash yet. What sucks is I really hate flash ads but realize that most video requires it.
Here ya go: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/70993-flash-player-10-1-download-droid.html
Without a case its definitely not too big. Fits in the pocket perfectly. I have a thick rubber case and that really adds bulk. But I am still able to carry it and it is no more obtrusive than my BB was. The only thing is that the rubber does grab onto my pocket linings and is difficult to get in and out because of that. But that is the fault of the case materials and not the size. I would have the same problem if that case were on a smaller phone too.
Received my update this morning. Internet is definitely faster. I think I prefer the "tray", but I do like the blackout look when's its open now. I'm trying to remember now, was there an A.M./P.M. before or was it bigger? I like whatevers different now.
If you use Chrome browser...install the Chrome to Phone extension in the browser and the Chrome to Phone app on the Droid. VERY sweet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQjPWY3XRxI RMX
I went to Verizon yesterday to switch back. Ended up ordering the DroidX. After looking at it again, I measured it against my iPhone 3gs in the OtterBox case and they were the same size, though the DroidX was half the thickness. That sealed the deal. Supposed to ship on 9/7 overnight, so I'm back to my old GZone I had from before.
Okay, this bites Previously, when placing the Moto Droid in the cradle (desk and car) it would invoke the DroidRunner App. In turn, the phone "never sleeps", which is good for its clock/weather/notifications for the former and turn-by-turn nav for the latter. Now, 2.2 uses the clock app instead and goes into screensaver mode as per your screen timeout settings e.g. every two minutes (mine). You need to tap the screen to wake it up. The "Stay awake" setting ("Screen will never sleep while charging" in application - development) doesn't fix it either. WUWT? Anyway, the complaint is all over the 'net.
Same here - drives me nuts. I don't know WHO the idiots were that thought the screensaver clock was a good idea. The old dock screen was MUCH better. RMX
I don't use it, but that sucks. I really wish they would allow us to choose our own LED colors for texts, etc.
At almost $30 apiece, what's the point now? I wonder how much Motorola is pushing Google to fix it's O/S... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just downloaded Flash from here and it seems to be working fine. http://www.bungster.com/downloads/Flash.apk RMX
