    OK, i know this is going to bring out all you sportsbike guys tearing into me for even thinking about a(nother) "cruiser" but hold your fire. I am simply too big, too old and too tired to ride my Ducati Monster for hours on end. It's a fun bike, nimble as hell, but at 6'1" and damn near 240lbs, it's just not comfortable.
    My V-Rod (thanks Michael) is a comfy cruiser, and great for highway running, but it's a big ole dog, very large and heavy.

    So, i'm sorta of looking for the following:

    big enough to accomodate me without being a "tank";

    Nimble enough to handle well without being a "crotch-rocket";

    medium weight- i can almost lift the ducati off the ground, too light- the v-rod is man-sized, so something weighing in at under 500 lbs would be great.

    Some panache, some flair in the design.

    I know the guzzi le mans has been around for along time- granted, there have been some updates, but i suspect there is not that much hi-tech about it. It seems to be the right size, although it may still require me to lay down over the tank. It has nice bits as well, including Ohlins shocks, brembos, etc.They made a black version, with some red frame pieces, that looks cool 'nero corsa' (In fact, i've also seen a few around lately in very bright, lambo-like metallic colors). What's the take on these bikes? Do they suck?
    (The other bikes i might consider to fit this niche are BMW's; some of my serious touring friends ride big hondas- not goldwings, but large, sort of ubiquitous looking touring models. If the BMW leaves me a little cold, the Hondas even more so, just so you put it into my perspective- in other words, a great touring bike with the panache, but not the discomfort of, a sports bike). PS. the Ducati ST models are still a little too extreme for my needs here.
    Thanks, all...

    Bill, you have a PM. An old buddy of mine who lives in NYC has turned into a major Guzzi nut after back problems prevented him from riding his MV.

    He'd probably love to help you out.
