I am surprised nobody made a thread on this race.

What an incredible race yet again.

Capirossi and Rossi ran away from the field and exchanged the lead several times. Rossi got him on the last lap for the win. Pedrosa had a pretty nasty accident in practice or qualifying, where he smacked his knee badly. He rode a brilliant race, especially considering the circumstances.

Some of the best racing I have ever seen, which seems to be a common comment I make every time I see a MotoGP race. The Championship is really tightening up now, going to be a very exciting finish. I think Rossi will pull it off.

Yeah, an incredible race that makes the F1 Italian GP look like a picnic in comparison.
Surely is that had happened at Monza between MS and Alonso, passing and repassing each other lap after lap, some time exchanging paint, they would have called the FIA stewards and dished some penalties! There surely would have been an enquiry and some appointments at Place de la Concorde!

But instead it was a clean fight between 2 talented riders: Rossi and Capirossi are the best of friends and thought it was a giggle to jostle laps after laps. The power and ill-handling of the Ducati against the skill of Rossi.

Pedrosa is a tough guy too, riding with a dislocated knee (and no, it was NOT a tennis incident!), while Gibernau also came back packed with pain-killer after fracture surgery. Bikers are tougher, by miles!!!

Point leader Hayden didn't make a strong impression and should miss the championship at this rate.

It blows me away that these guys can slide the rear wheel around curves - incredible! I can't wait for this weekend's race.

It was a great race and I am a huge Rossi fan. Wish Rossi could have won at Laguna Seca the last two year. Comparing it to F1 is wrong though, F1 seems to have more strategy because of fuel loads and does a lot of passing in the pits. If saw the previous MotoGP race, Capirossi ran away from the pack , the only fun racing to watch was mid pack.

The level of skills has greatly improved these last few years in bike racing and has matched the increase in power too.

These bikes can deliver 260hp, I heard, and the tire sizes are not greater than before - although the compounds are way superior.

The way they can spin the tires in corners or throw the bikes sideways under braking is very spectacular. And the quality of these races, mind-bogling!

For me MotoGP is becoming more spectacular while F1 less spectacular.

That was classic Rossi. 4 laps to go, he had a plan. He knew where he wanted to overtake Capirossi, and he waited, and he waited. Great stuff.
Rossi's has shown his skill and experience on these fast tracks like Malasia. But Nicky has won on the tight tracks. Skills, or bikes that adapt to certain track better?

They both have youngsters behind them.

Pedrosa also had a hole in the knee with 5 stiches and a broken toe (the big toe, I don't know the name) in the right foot.
