Lorenzo heads for the yard of bricks.

Uncharacteristic off by Rossi. I mean he didn't just loose traction, he grabbed way to much front brake.

I hate to say it, but I'm VERY happy Rossi didn't win.

Congrats to Lorenzo for a very deserved win, and congrats to Hayden for 3rd.

I scanned ahead a week on Speed's programming and didn't see the rebroadcast. If anybody finds it, please post it here!

    Thanks,

Shame that Rossi crashed out - that front end seemed to just snap on him. I was looking forward to a great Rossi/Lorenzo battle. So now a 25-point gap between the two. Keeps things interesting.

Great ride by Nicky.......I really hope he can continue the way he has been lately. I'd hate to see him get relegated to second class machinery.

Rossi again. Lead Lorenzo by 2.5 seconds at the end, Hayden crashed out, with the two hondas 3rd and 4th.

    Haha.....you gotta love him.

Another brilliant race by The Doctor, er....The Donkey!

I was pissed that the broadcast I was watching never showed Rossi's pass on Pedrosa for the lead (Speed). They went to commercial, and when they came back, Rossi was in front.

I watched him on BBC1 the other morning showing the helmet and it had a race on but to be honest I don't follow this exclusively so I can't tell you what I was watching. Here's the lead-up to the donkey from Shrek helmet! This guy would have been very refreshing driving for Ferrari in F1.

Here's the article on crash net about the helmet:

This is the special helmet unveiled by Valentino Rossi on Saturday during his local grand prix at Misano.

The helmet has a smiling image of the donkey's face from the film 'Shrek' painted on top - similar to Rossi's memorable 2008 Mugello helmet, featuring a shocked picture of his own face. The choice of a donkey is a joke at Rossi's own expense for crashing at Indianapolis last Sunday.

“If anyone is wondering about my helmet - I have the donkey on it because in Italy, if you make a stupid mistake we say that you are a donkey.

“As soon as I hit the ground at Indianapolis I thought what a donkey I was. Later I thought that would make a good helmet design for my home race.

"So, I may have lost 25 points but I solved the problem of the helmet design for Misano!” smiled the eight time world champion. "I think it's very funny.”

The Indy fall marked Rossi's first non-finish since 2007 and means he starts round 13 of 17 with a reduced 25 point lead over Lorenzo.

Rossi took his special helmet design to pole position in qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix.

Nice shot! You wouldn't have that in a larger size, would you? It would make for very nice wallpaper on my laptop.

I just watched my DVRed race in Estoril. Very nice return of Stoner - glad to see he hasn't lost anything. Lorenzo rode a flawless race. What happened to Rossi - he was never at all competitive in the race.

Am I the only person who thinks it is strange Stoner could announce he is taking exactly three races off, and is far too sick to even think about attending any of the races, but then comes back at 100% as if on cue?

Who knows about Stoner. Remember this: he's crashed a lot this year, so who knows what sort of shape he's in. Remember that he is very, very small: probably less than 125#s, so he's probably taken a pretty good hit.

I think Lorenzo didn't see Haydn on his left. Too bad, the title battle is taking a blow here. Can't see Rossi losing it now.

A bit disappointed with Dovi and Toseland this year. Does Dovi deserve to stay with the factory Honda team? Also Pedrosa somehow doesn't manage to mix it with Rossi, Stoner and Lorenzo (if he stays on the bike). Is it the Honda?

Haydn seems to have improved over the year with the difficult Ducati. I hope he continues to do so and get back at the sharp end next year.

I saw the replay, and it looks like Hayden's acceleration was good, and he got ahead of Lorenzo, but braked early, and Lorenzo hit him, and that was that.

The Honda is getting better. Take a look at the top speed trap times for them, and you'll see the Ducatis are about 4, 5, 6 km faster at the end of each straight, with the Yamahas next, then the Hondas. No substitute for HP.

Fat lady is warming up, it would take a huge Greg-Norman-at-Agusta type collapse on Rossi's part to lose the championship now. Rossi is strong at Malaysia, he will probably clinch the title with a win in style.

Otherwise a pretty boring race. Stoner had them covered, you have to wonder if he had stayed healthy all year what the points would look like.

Another bone headed move by Lorenzo, basically a move that summarized his whole season. Quick doesn't mean anything unless you can finish the race. Poor Hayden had to suffer because of it.

I thought it was a fantastic race. Stoner was flawless. I thoroughly enjoyed how much both Stoner and Rossi were sliding their back ends out - fantastic stuff! It would have been nice to see Rossi get close enough to pass, and it looked like he was getting there at certain points, however Stoner seemed to have just enough to keep that from happening. Stoner would have made it a very interesting season if he had never needed to take time off.

Also, very close battles further on down the field. Great race!
