Hi All, I went through my 'new to me' 360 Modena over the past week, doing an oil & oil filter change, air filters, brake rotors, pads, brake fluid flush, & some other misc cleaning. While I had the floor off, I checked the motor mounts, luckily, they were the updated version (182142). However, the passenger side had appeared to have been collapsed and needed to be replaced, so I ordered both just in case. The passenger side, in the first picture, was just collapsed and easy to note that it had failed by the floating rubber pieces being bottomed out on the plate/mount. The driver side however, was not bottomed out, and appeared at first glance to be OK. Since it only takes about 20-30 minutes to change them, I figured I'd change it anyway - glad I did! It coned out and separated the bushing. The bolt did not appear to be over tightened, warped, or loose - so I can only assume this pulled apart as regular wear and tear. Just a heads up that even if your bushings are not collapsed, it doesn't mean its hasn't failed, especially the driver side. Pretty common actually. The second design mount is not a permanent fix. On big inspections I remove the bolt and lower washer to look for a full circumference or mostly full circumference crack indicating a separated mount.
Typically motor mounts fail when the Trans mount has failed too. Best to replace all three mounts at same time, for the drivetrain can become very loose in the cradle during shifts.
