I was going to the museum next door to have a coffee with Carl. On the way there a guy stopped me and asked me if I was going to motorclassica, I said probably not and he said, well here's a VIP ticket if you want it. I said yes, told him he's a legend and went in. Had a free feed and drinks and walked around for a couple of hours then went home glad I didn't pay to see it.
I think some of the cars mossgreen had there were always going to be difficult sellers. Fill the auction with desirable porsche, ferrari and mercedes plus aussie muscle cars and i think it may have been a different story.
More significant cars like D Type and maserati lacking decent history D Type has been sold to the UK. One maserati didn't have the correct engine the other was wanting a bucket of cash. E Type made Base reserve.
I spoke to the person this morning, who acted as the agent for the owner and he only mentioned the sale to the UK. $5.5m I’d be happy with that.
I was at the auction, car didn’t sell at the auction, but may have post auction the auctioneer was specific if car sold bit vague if it didn’t.
As I said you needed to be there. https://www.mossgreen.com.au/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/354/?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2F%3Fstatus%3Dbidding_upcoming
