Motorcycle Trip in Colorado Questions...

    Gentleman -

    I'm planning a motorcycle trip next summer, leaving Minnesota and heading West. I'm planning on going thru Sturgis area, S.D, on the way to Yellowstone. After Yellowstone, I thougt I'd drop down towards Grand Junction, Colorado, before heading towards home. I definately want to hit Aspen and Vail.

    When would be the best time of the year to do this, with concerns of weather? I'm thinking June, July, or August? I didn't want to get snowed on.

    June is pretty dependable, although it can be a bit chilly in the early morning and evening. July and August are blazing hot. Factor in sun-at-altitude and it can be brutal.

    I would just love to do that kind of motorcycle trip through the states some day. Just ride on route 69 with no goal or mission in mind.

    What kinda bike are you planning to ride?
