I'm thinking about trying the Razr cell phone. The price has come down significantly. I have two questions. The key pad is a shiny metal. Are the keys hard to see in sunlight and do the keys light up in darkness? Thanks

the keys light up and they 'push' just fine.................the MAIN reason you don't want this phone, cause the battery REALLY sucks......talk time sucks, and stand by time sucks.......if you want it to last the whole day don't use it........if you use it a couple of hours tops.........

I have one and I haven't had any issues with it. I thought I used it a lot(4000 min per month) and 99% of the time I can get through the whole day with no problems. I have found that when using the bluetooth function in my car the battery goes quicker. The key pad lights up a cool blue and during the day the shiny pad is not a problem at all.

No problem w/ standby and talk times here.

Motorola will be releasing SLVR later this year. Same manufacturing technology, but in a slim, non-clamshell form factor. It's slightly narrower, slightly thinner, and a little taller than the RAZR. Most of all, it "corrects" all of my RAZR nit-picks, which was including EDGE and memory expansion.

    V60's still work???
I am waiting for the Razr to be free! So, I will be waiting a while..the V600 is still going strong. And it makes a great soccer ball when impaired.

I was going to say the same thing about my Razr- My talk time (which I talk a ton) is over 2 days - (I put the new battery they sent to me in) - which is lasting 2 times as long as the original) - and the longest life battery I have had in 10 years).

I also like how I can sync calendar, address and e-mail with MS outlook - handy. The form factor is nice, etc.

How well does it sync up with your e-mail? What are the size restrictions. I have a V400 and am considering upgrading to the RAZR; I don't want to get a Blackberry, just check my work e-mails when I'm out of the office.
    Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge - it only syncs when it is connected to your pc directly (to outlook) - I think it will work with regular pop mail via the web interface - but not sure. I have not seen a size limitation. I mostly just sync my calendar - for I too also carry a blackberry - but if I am out and about on the weekend or late evenings - I just carry the RAZR - and with the calendar on there - if I get a call about a meeting or whatever - it is on there - and I don't have to bring my BlackBerry...

My Razr has been great! The first one I had a software glitch in but it was replaced and I've had no problems yet. I don't have a problem with the limited memory as I use a cell phone for talking, not playing games or music. I like that it's a flip phone(durable) and I've beaten this one up pretty badly and it still works great. I should mention that of all the cell phones I've had this one has the best overall reception of any of them. Also, no need for a case as it fits easy in any pocket.

Like a couple other users mentioned I've had NO PROBLEM with battery life at all and I'm a total talk time whore.

Are you using Mobile Phonetools for synchronization? If not, then how are you doing it? I use mpt, but I don't like the inconvenience of having to press a synch button on the Outlook toolbar (that mpt installs) to sync. I'd like it to auto-sync like MS ActiveSync.

Jeff: if this is your first Moto, then you may be disappointed w/ the phonebook and how it displays a contact multiple times for each number, unlike Nokia where you can associate multiple numbers w/ one contact. Quitee a few Moto newbies complain about it. The way to fix this is to turn "show primary" on so only primary numbers are displayed and voila!

I do use Mobile Phone Tools as well - I agree it is not as user friendly as it could be - I am hopefull that the next generation is has offline sync and more user friendly...
