Does anyone know of any good publications on Motronic Systems that would reference the systems in late model Ferrari?

There is a really good book on "How to understand, service and modify Bosch Fuel injection & Engine Management" by Charles O Probst that give alot of info on all the bosch systems with great background on how everything works. There is also a great book from Bosch: Gasoline-Engine Management Isbn 0-8376-1052-4 that I just got from www.boschtechinfo.com for $10 (hard back 416 pages)! Everything I've seen is limited to theory, how sensors work and pictures of computers/chip. I read somewhere that the last system bosch released alot of info on was the Motronic 2.5 (vintage 89-91) and later systems information is secret. For fun, you can get the latest issue of GM High-Tech Performance (Apr 07) for alot of info on computer systems for cars. There is an article on John Meaney that shows the progression on computers from 85 thru current (8 layer circuit boards and photos of both sides of the boards, as good as Motronix). FWIW.

Jeff, Thanks so much! I ended up getting the book by Charles O Probst. As far as I could tell it offered the best over view of all the different motronic systems. Unfortunatly it seems more theory than practical.

I luckily stumbed across the Probst book while on the Bentley publishing website... I have a late model M3, they have a fantastic manual that covers all systems. I've noticed the Bentley manuals offer a step by step breakdown with cautionary notes for most everything. I'm hoping they release manuals for Ferrari models one day.
Great tip about the GM mag... it's been a number of years since I've read it.
