Hey All, My dad's corvette was attacked by a herd of mice last winter while the car was in hibernation. He has removed the mice and the nest. The next question is how to you remove the smell? Any of your detailers ever offer a service to de-stinkify an interior that smells of mouse urine? UGH! What a pain! Mice are evil and must all be destroyed. Thanks Birdman
This is a good excuse to get a *****! I have no mice in either my cars or my home! How did they get in? Via the Tubi? Use steel wool to block the exhaust openings... ( Oh geez... didn't even realize that I used a bad word above.... subsititute it with the word "cat" - sorry guys!)
Jonathan, I did have someone get sick in my car (not the Ferrari!) once and there is some over-the-counter odor eliminator (Can't remember name but has a pic of a skunk on the small bottle) It worked great after sitting in a small saucer on the car floor for about 2 weeks. Never knew anything happened after that. In addition to above, perhaps steam-clean the carpeting? Did the leather seats get soiled too? (if the seats are fabric, it'll be easier to just have them steam-cleaned as well) All critters are evil when it comes to home and car! They should ALL be eliminated! I think you should shoot a PM to Alex as he is the best source of info for this type of thing.
Had to deal with a severe meese infestatin in my camper last year. Bought a hydrogen peroxide based 'color safe' bleach (Demoula's store brand is what I used, but there are others out there). Used it diluted about 3:1 in water, full strength on obvious stains. Make sure the lable lists peroxide as many color safe bleaches are much less effective. For carpeting, best to remove it from the car, spray thoroughly with the solution, (use a steam cleaning system, or pump type pressure garden sprayer) let it sit for 1/2 hour or so, then rinse it out with fresh water. Rinse a couple of times as there's a bit of detergent in the color safe bleach. Suggest sucking it dry with a carpet cleaning attachment on a steam carpet cleaner or wet/dry vac. Leaving it out in the sunshine for a day helps dry it & will further break down anything that's left. Then follow up with spraying on an enzime based odor remover from a pet store. Many carpet steam cleaner rental places also sell a pet odor remover. A more aggressive alternative is chlorine bleach diluted 3:1 or 4:1, but test it on samples first as it will remove the color from some fabrics.
