Hi, I just bought a 77 308GTB & replaced cam belts & tensioner bearings before I drove the car 30 miles, Well its all back together now & starts & runs great but when its fully warmed up I hear alot of valve/mechanical noise. It sounds like the valves need adjustment but the previous owner had just done the valves & since it sounds great cold is this possible. Could be wrong weight oil? any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Bill

I generally do belts/tensioners and valves at the same time.

Are you sure you got the timing right when you replaced the belts?

Some increase in valve train noise as the engine gets hot is normal as the oil warms up. Kind of hard to assess whether what you're hearingn is excessive or normal noise over the internet tho.

    What oil are you using?

    S/B nW-50 where n is 5, 10, or 20 depending on the brand.

If you're running a lighter weight oil, then most likely it's thinning out too much when it gets hot.
