The upside is you can still use the house's original serial number. That way it gets listed in the Chateaux Market Letter too.

When either buying or (re)building a chateaux, always remember to also get a moat. They seem to keep the black knight at bay.

Well said. As interested as I am in the $26.4MM chateaux, I would have none of it if it did not come with a battery of cannons. After all, France is on it's way to being the new North Africa.

Can you picture what the immigrants will say? "Yes, we came to France and saw that no one was working. Thirty-five hours? They kept demanding more rights for their workers... We would work 60 hours if it meant we could have fresh water and not sleep on mud and not get hacked up with a machete by a neighboring tribe. Pretty soon, we ran the place."

I'm sorry, and with all due respect. If you can't find a 'suitable' house in all of the Bay Area, YOU MUST ME STONED!

I think moving a chateaux is a neat and clever idea. There was a builder here in Dallas about 15 yrs ago that took one apart and had it sent over. He took pieces of it and built it into several modern homes and named the small ,12 homes or so , community after the original with pictures of the original and which parts each owner got in their home.
I had no idea they could be had so " reasonably ".
