My son got a job at a resort in Park City & my wife & I are moving him there in Feb. What are good areas & what should he avoid. We've been looking at apartments on-line, but don't know what some of these areas are like. Our son is 21 yrs old & will be sharing an apt. with a friend.
We would really appreciate any suggestions and/or advice.

What does anyone know about these areas?

    Thanks,

Nix W.V.C.... I stayed at the "Extended Stay America" there by the ice rink (2002 Winter Olympics), and although that little 1/2-square-mile area wasn't bad (movie theater, restaurants, etc.), the rest of the area was the *pits*. I was on clinical rotation at Primary Children's Hospital at the time, which is located up by the Univeristy of Utah campus. *That* is where I would look if I were moving there...or why not in Park City proper? It'd save him a drive up the hill every day.

I agree, West Valley City has a high crime right, most of those towns west of I-15 I would steer clear of. Around the University of Utah is good because there are a lot of apartments for the students. Park City/Deer Valley also has some apartments and condos available.

I'm from Utah (now in Cali) and lived in West Valley City for about 10yrs, its not that bad, the "crime" in Utah is petty compared to any big city. Are u trying 2 find a place in Park City? If not then basically try to fing him someplace east of State street (basically divides the wrong side from the rich side haha) Sandy is nice, the Avenues by the U of U are nice, but might be kinda pricy. Sugar house is also nice, if you can't find anything on the east side then go to the west side but farther to the south, past West Valley, and Kearns and all that, the farther south u go the more new housing they're builing over there so it's pretty ok, plus they have the Jordan Landing shopping area that basically has everything your son will need (Walmart, Costco, Movie theatre, Gym, book stores, Old Navy etc etc) If you have any questions feel free to ask me, be happy to help.
