Greetings All: We'll soon be relocating to Sarasota from Montana for at least our winters, shipping the C/4 (15817) and the '64 E-Type. We are looking forward to snowless, warm winters in a place we can drive the cars all year. Looking forward to meeting other car guys and gals. I will be looking for good, honest Ferrari shops in the vicinity of Sarasota that are familiar with older quad cam motors for maintenance and problem prevention - recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Since it will be difficult to be here to see the cars loaded and be there to unload them because we probably can't keep up with professional transport drivers, we also would like recommendations for a dealer/car guy facility that would have the indoor storage facilities to receive the cars and hold them until we can make the cross country drive with our four-legged critters. We are looking forward to starting our Sunshine state adventure. Thanks! Jim Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great looking cars Jim. Sarasota is beautiful. Spent weekdays there running office and retail projects. You will enjoy an annual event, I believe around February, on St. Armand's Square. Third wealthiest county in Florida. You will be within a few hours drive of Orlando, Winter Park, Daytona, Sebring, Amelia Island, and Naples. Of course you are less than 4 hours from Palm Beach, and a little more to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. All of these cities have annual car events that would be of interest to a Ferrari fan. Cavallino and Amelia being international events. Most are concours events, Daytona and Sebring being international sports car races. I believe Ferrari of Tampa has monthly Cars & Coffee. A visit to south Florida is highlighted by Ferrari of Palm Beach, Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale, and The Collection, the Ferrari dealership in Miami. So not only are you coming to the car capital of the USA, we throw in some great weather. Welcome!!
Welcome to the Sunshine State! You have some beautiful cars! It's great to be able drive the cars at all times of the year. There is a Ferrari mechanic that specializes in older models but I need to find his business card. He's highly recommended in the Tampa Bay and Sarasota area. There are several exotic car shows such as the Sarasota Exotic Car Fest which is in downtown Sarasota. It usually happens in February. There is also duPont Registry Cars & Coffee which happens every third Saturday of the month in St. Petersburg. It's about 45 minutes from Sarasota and you'll drive over the beautiful Skyway Bridge. You can also attend my monthly event I put on called the SoFlo Exotics Experience. It happens in the afternoon and is on the second Saturday of every month. It's a more upscale, smaller type of exotic car show with wine, cigars and drinks. We've had all years, makes and models of exotic cars. More details on www.SoFloExotics.com. I highly recommend you check out The Vault, for all your indoor car storage solutions. The Vault is an upscale, very secure exotic car storage facility for all years, makes and models. The phone number is on the website at www.TheVaultTampaBay.com. The owner can coordinate the transport of the vehicles and place them in The Vault for you. Then on your way down to Sarasota, a short stop in Tampa to pick up the vehicles and you're on your way to Sarasota. I look forward to meeting you at some point and seeing your cars! Take care.
Welcome to Sarasota. There's a thriving Ferrari scene here including a very laid back group of owners who meet every month for pizza and lies. There's also an excellent independent Ferrari shop in town. PM me when you hit town. David
