Taz it has got to feel good to have the car complete again, brakes and car look great. Re injectors, were you noticing anything before or now just that it's better? Cold starts any better? Bill FL
Bill- She was starting really roughly, only cured by OD'ing Techron. Starts perfectly now. Aaron has the data from RC on the before and after of the injectors and I should be able to pick it up next week. Will do a separate thread on that one and scan their results. Note the rough start problem seems mostly limited to Motronic 7.3 and 7.1.1 Ferraris. The earlier Motronics are not as affected. The 360s (7.3) have the same problem. One or two of the injectors starts leaking down and that results in a really rough start. Double starts work fine every time. Two of mine were leaking, so no wonder she was rough. After start with everything flowing and 12 cylinders, she feels fine. She seems to run smoother now, though, and I am sure fuel consumption has improved from really horrible to merely terrible. Incidentally, one of my small plenum hoses started leaking, fixed by Aaron, so time for all of us to think about upgrading those, too, and not just the three big ones.
Excellent news Taz. Looks like injectors are next in my plans. Have exactly the same symptoms and just not happy with double starts. They do work, just not a solution. Thanks for posting this. Bill FL
It looks like you also had your front calipers repainted, Terry. New matching Ferrari script all around too. Why did you get rid of the red BILLET and CERAMIC lettering? Barry
Barry- No, same paint job on the fronts with Ceramic and Billet. On the rear CCMs, Ferrari did not include the Brembo script on the 4 piston calipers, so mine does not have it either. The four photos are all of the port rear wheel and brake.
OK. I see what you mean, Terry. You have some real stopping power now! Now you have to find a road where you can fly under the radar and bed the brakes.
Terry. Maybe I missed it here or on another thread, but did you post the final weight-savings of the MOVE-IT conversion(s) ? Be nice to see it broken down front, rear; caliper/caliper, bolts/bolts; disc/disc. Maybe the associated costs, so as to get at the cost of a "saved pound....." I recently installed Brembo's all around on my 575, and have been quite pleased. Good value, since another FERRARI CHAT member had them available used..... Cheers, Scott
Scott- Post 224, but here is the gist of it. Overall unsprung weight reduction 14.4 lbs plus 2.9 lbs weight reduction for the titanium wheel bolts for 17.3 lbs overall reduction. Brakes went from 330 x 34 F and 310 x 28 R to 396 x 36 F and 362 x 28 R plus much larger calipers and pads. Do you have the same data on the Brembos?
