I've emailed grandprix.com many times, asking how they succeeded in sliding down from a well informed F1 newssite, to a sleazy trashcan of self-produced gossip, (and now publicly siding against a driver). Didn't expect an answer and, sure enough, never getting one. I don't visit Grandprix.com anymore, but seeing this quote, they apparently have slided down even more. Well, that's the internet for ya.
i wonder what would have happened if this had happened to rubens? ide? or rosberg...certainly all the re-actions around here all will be pretty diff...
respectfully disagree: not to make too fine a point of it mate...you can slice it and dice it but you cant spice it... if thats his (MS) way of winning then thats his way of winning. all we can do is watch and *struggle* to give him the benefit of the doubt (which he has managed to squander with the press from previous similar performances at critical moments). regardless whoever the source was (grandprix.com), the broad perception remains from todays events...a bad taste in the collective mouth of F1 supporters brought on by somebody we all look up to (please dont shoot the messenger). yes grandprix.com must be sleazy for sure, after all they represent the Cahier archive...tfic
Who said anything about cheating? BAR was caught cheating because the rules said they cannot do X and they did X. Open and shut. To say "I think he cheated" means you must have some sort of conviction that the whole thing was planned - based on what? Ironically, some of the folks saying he did it on purpose use the "he's too good to make that sort of mistake" argument. So, what they are in fact saying is that MS is too good to make a screw up in the corner, but not good enough to slip such a cheating attempt by them, even though they slipped it by the FIA. What self-aggrandizing! It would be acceptable for the "he cheated" contingent to fall back to the position of "we don't know if he did or not" and use the idea that it couldn't be proven, therfore it had to be let go. That's a specious argument and the reason is that people just enjoy bashing on MS. When he went off track a while back and was pushed back on by the marshals, it was said "they wouldn't have done that for anyone else!". Ok, so the marshalls at the track are in on the conspiracy. The FIA is in on it too apparently, despite porking Ferrari on the rules chanegs a couple of years back. In the end, if one looks at it in an unbiased way, it would be very foolish of MS to attempt such a maneuver and he had very little to gain and so much to lose. Getting back to law, such reasoning is also used to determine guilt in an investigation. In any crime, there's a motive, and in this allegation, there just isn't.
any site that reports that they would see justice in Schumacher (or any driver for that matter) crashing during tomorrow's race, is a sleazy site. Simply abusing netspace to express then own childish frustrations. I don't give a f*** about who they represent. and as you may have noticed, I don't think to highly of those that are convinced, based upon nothing else than their own bias, Schumacher made himself guilty of foul play today. A seven-time worldchampion deserves a little more credit and respect than that.
I can't believe that some people are actually suprised that MS made this maneuver. Even if he DIDN'T ram Hill and even if he DIDN'T ram Villeneuve, and even if he DIDN'T chop people's noses off during the start on a regular basis.... all you have to do is watch the video. [Again,] Shame, shame Michael.
Sheesh. If you're the best, you're always guilty -- due process not required. In the time since I got coverage of F1 back, I've seen MS do some pretty unsporting things ... but all permitted by the rules. But they're called "cheating". You know, I'm beginning to think that Michael just isn't quite British.
I think he did it on purpose, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until it's investigated. If it WAS on purpose, I don't understand why.
The Big Chin does it again. Jacques comment was priceless, a action we wouldn't even expect from Ide much less a supposed multi-time world champion. What made it even sadder was Windsors weak questions in the interview, guess it's hard to ask tough questions when your busy blowing the Big Chin under the table. F1=wrestling this weekend . Fernando is equal pvssy for not slamming him on TV.
Preach on brother, but since it was the Big Chin everyone who is naive enough to think he didn't do it on purpose when Fernando was ahead of him on time going into that corner must also join Windsor under the table blowing the Big Chin too. What a bunch of fanboi's.
What would the reaction be if he'd put the car in reverse........then Alonso had gone into the back of him......with Alonso not getting out of the car?
The FIA are obviously favouring Renault...........just thought I'd say that as thats all you hear from Flav when their not winning!
I don't believe it til it's said on Formula1.com. I'm wondering why the FIA just didn't add 5 minutes to the Quali and let everyone go around again after a pit stop? Would've made things a lot easier for everyone.
How dare you! This is the British Broadcasting Corporation - not some tinpot advert ridden home for cub journalists
Interesting turn of events. I think if this was not MS, nothing would have happened. As I've said it's ludicrous to think he did this deliberately. However, everyone loves to bag on the guy at the top, and MS surely is at the top. Notice that Flavio IMMEDAITELY squealed foul and Symonds rushed to see the officials. It seems like peer pressure probably cost MS this race. Too bad - I guess tomorrow will be another snoozer with FA jumping out ahead and then we'll just check our watches every so often until they pass the checkered flag.
MS will start from the back of the grid. He cheated, he's got caught. Here comes the payback. 7H of talking with the FIA, the teams and MS. Several tapes watched and the FIA officials asked for a disqualification. Finally they found an arrangement. Not too bad for MS finally. It must be good to be a top team driver - and a Ferrari driver even more. Some says "Not seen, not caught". Doin' this in front of hundreds cameras makes me think he is still as arrogant as he was when driving for Benetton a while back. He is maybe the best F1 pilot of all times and, to me, it will take many years before someone brakes his palmares. But Hell ! Seeing him acting like this - and ruining the teams work - makes me really think I would love to kick his ass to the bone ! ...same thing for Fisichella. Will start at 9# instead of 5#.
