Since it's now Dec 23, 2009... I'll take that bet for any amount you care to wager...house, Ferrari, boat, etc... . . . . . (sorry, couldn't resist)
Thats what you get for drinking eggnog (the good kind!) all day But even this drunk knows Schumi is a Schu in for WDC in 2010
SRTMike; I like you more & more. I'm fully backing Michael to school the field. Aside from his talent, is his total commitment to excellence. Not only for himself, but also to raise the performance levels of all around him. Similar to Michael Jordan. He has the ability to (not just the speed) to make Mercedes GP a superpower. His legacy is unquestioned (even with his flawed moments); this phase is like having dessert after a great 5 course meal.... Kevin
And then there is more: We still don't have all the drivers announced and then there is the waiting game for the 4 newbies, you know in particular...
Have to agree with the MS supporters. He's got skills no one on the grid has. It will be interesting to watch him banging wheels with Alonso and Hamilton. Unfortunately for them it will be their fronts with Schumie's rears. Bring on the spectacle.
Ermm I'am not to sure on that, one thing I will concede though Ross B and MS united again will be a worrying sight for the rest.
You definitely have my support on your statements!! Rooms are getting far and few between in the Hockenheim area for the race in July. Have you reconsidered Spa as a trade for Germany? Carol eggnog - well, it's Promise Land (TX dairy) for me - pure Jersey with a bit of Jameson added - thanks.
I would have much rather seen Michael come back to Ferrari, but regardless, I'm glad to see him back. I'm highly conflicted because I'm a tifosi first, but I'm also a huge Schui fan. Watching interviews on Youtube, you can tell he really WANTS to come back with all guns blazing!!! He wouldn't have been able to do that in the miserable F60. I can't necessarily say I'd cheer for him to beat Ferrari for the WDC, but I do want to see him squash McLaren (the Evil Empire). I absolutely want him to prove the legion of naysayers wrong about his age/ability to return and wipe the floor with the young punks!! The substantial cash infusion of Mercedes combined with the mighty Brawn/Schui combo is going to be formidable, believe it!! I bet LDM is having nightmares!!
Hi Carol, I was on the verge of purchasing Silverstone tickets, but they really lost me as a customer, I think. They had a special deal for 20% off on a limited number of tickets... I called my brother, we agreed to get a specific section, and literally within 5 minutes the 20% off seats were gone... they must have had maybe 1% of the tickets for this price - what a gip! So we were about to buy full price tickets, then we noticed that you don't get an assisgned seat for quali! That's nuts... $650 for a ticket and you would need to get there hours early to get a half decent seat - plus you only get a parking spot if you buy 4 tickets. Just nuts. I am on the fence... I'd do Spa but I just did it last year... although it was an AWESOME track and just beautiful part of the world - simply stunning. But I'd love to go somewhere new... so I am thinking Hungaroring. I'd love to see my favorite driver of all time in his home country. It would be sublime! If you want some eggnog, I'll send some your way We make it strong up here Cheers Mike
Good morning Mike and Happy Christmas Eve Day to you. I remember you had a thread about a Silverstone inquiry - sounds like you are better off going elsewhere. We're going to the Hungaroring but for the LMS race (Andreas has provided a great insight about Budapest). There are still some hotels near Mannheim with decent priced rates for the German GP. My thought is exactly yours....seeing my favorite driver of all time in his home country. I guess we can wear a Ferrari hat with out Mercedes Club shirts!! Have a cup of your special eggnog for us!!! Best, Carol
I'm sure he can handle the pressure - he was born to race and the instincts won't leave him in a hurry.
Come to Turkey with me. We'll be the only ones watching. Hungary might be much less crowded in 2010 as Kimi is not around anymore.
Hmmm, I thought about Turkey or Hungary... but isn't the Hungary race one of the processional snoozers? How is Turkey? I doubt much could top Spa, I'm sure I will go back there several more times... but I just went this year, so it would be nice to try a few more. I love Suzuka but that's a heck of a long way to go for an F1 race, espcially since I can usually only get away for a week or so from work.
Hungary is often a processional snoozer. Turkey isn't. But quite frankly I don't think it matters terribly. When I'm at a GP I rarely have enough time to follow much of the on track action anyway. I'm too busy taking in the atmosphere and shooting a million pictures. Even in a processional GP there are enough stimuli on site to keep me entertained.
