Where the H*ll did this come from? First I've heard of it. http://www.cwventuregroup.com/motorsportcountryclub/home.htm Discuss
Where did this pop up from? Is it a joke, having I not been reading my mail or have my prayers been answered?
Your prayers have been answered, that is, if you pray to spend a sht ton of $. I think for the same dough you could join Castle Pines.
This venture is Kevin Rogers and Gary Pfeifer. They have run at PPIR with us in the past. Kevin will be forwarding me info to email out membership info. I will keep you posted. On another note, I heard PPIR might be coming available too! Leslie
I am curious of the costs, too! When I first moved up here I looked into the Aspen Sports Car Club, the private club that runs the Woody Creek track, and at that time the costs (and rules) were beyond my comprehension. I can only assume MSCC would be as far out of reach for me as the moon! I just hope that we get another PPIR someday for us mortals! Man, the MSCC looks sweet though! Hopefully, FCA or CECA will have an event so I can come check it out someday.
There was an article in a CS paper last week about the sell-off of the parts. The track is for sale. Terms are you do not get all the grandstands (keep seating for @5,000?), and you can not host a "Tier 1" event at the track.
This track is not a Kevin Rogers Gary Pfeifer effort, it is being spearheaded by an acquaintence of mine name Claus Wagner. He is very serious about makin the track and club a first class operation, as you can see by the fact that he had Herman Tilke design the track. Hopefully he is able to not get shot down by the county! I do not know what they would have to complaing about he has around 6000 acres and that makes for a lot of sound buffering.
Kevin and Gary are working on a project in Genoa, so I appologize for the confusion. But I did find this link, is this what Claus is duplicating here in the US, or just the website? http://www.ascari.net/home.php?idioma=2
I can't speak for Claus but the websites are near duplicates. BTW...send him an e-mail and let him know your level of enthusiasm for a project like this, like I did last week. I contacted him and he sounded very appreciative and offered some insight into what he was hoping to accomplish.
I have had discussions with 2 different groups from the midwest looking to do the same thing here as well. They studied what shot Pensky down and think they found a solution. Dave
All good news in this thread. It would be great to get PPIR back in the short term and a Motorsports CC built as well. All of a sudden there is enough activity that I hope it doesn't stall because everybody thinks the "other guy" is going to build a track.
